St. Michael's Hospital Foundation (SMHF) is the exclusive fundraising organization to generate and manage philanthropic funds for St. Michael's Hospital and Providence Healthcare, within Unity Health Toronto. Through multiple lines of fundraising income generation and stewardship activity, SMHF, in conjunction with Unity Health Toronto, will define and promote the St. Michael's and Providence brands to maximize philanthropic revenue to fuel their healthcare, research, teaching and health equity missions. POSITION SUMMARY

The AVP, Campaign Operations will provide strategic campaign leadership across the Foundation by creating and implementing campaign strategy and design, in conjunction with the VP, Principal, Major and Planned Gifts (VP/PMPG) and the AVP, Transformational and Principal Gifts (AVP/TPG). This role will provide campaign education and communication to foundation and hospital staff and volunteers and be responsible for consulting and collaborating with key hospital stakeholders to help identify campaign priorities and projects. The AVP will be responsible for leading initiatives to strengthen and coordinate our fundraising processes and ensure alignment of strategies and processes across our Major Gift, Annual, Planned and Community Development programs. The AVP, Campaign Operations will also work with the VP, Donor Experience to help implement foundation-wide systems and processes aligned with campaign goals to monitor and report on fundraising progress; and will work with the VP, Finance to monitor, track and report on campaign revenue.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES

Campaign Leadership Activities:

  • Translate campaign strategy discussions into concrete plans with timelines and key campaign deliverables. Maintain a comprehensive campaign calendar and ensure key activities are aligned with the plan, including cultivation events, cabinet meetings, committee meetings, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with Hospital Leaders, the Foundation CEO and the VP/PMPG to set strategies for fundraising needs and projects and contribute to big idea generation.
  • Provide campaign education sessions for foundation and hospital staff and volunteers.
  • Establish, communicate, and maintain departmental and organization-wide policies and procedures related to campaign fundraising.
  • In conjunction with the VP, Marketing and Brand Strategy, develop a holistic campaign communication plan for multiple audiences and key stakeholders, including Campaign committees.
  • Manage the campaign budget in partnership with the VP/PMPG and the AVP/TPG.
  • Develop and monitor progress against multi-year revenue projections for Campaigns. Support a multi-year revenue/expense budget plan for the Campaign, informed by the key campaign milestones and investments identified in the plan.
  • Work in concert with the VP, Finance to ensure donation reporting is accurate by project and gift acceptance is compliant with Foundation policies.
  • Collaborate with the VP, Donor Experience and the Director, Stewardship & Donor Relations to implement appropriate and consistent donor journeys and ensure all gift agreement deliverables are executed.
  • Establish agendas and materials for Campaign Committee meetings.
  • Develop appropriate volunteer structure and staff support models to drive campaign goals.
  • Work in conjunction with the Prospect Research Team to help implement and execute the prospect management process, including clearance and pipeline management, for prospect lists and gift chart development, as well as networked giving profiles.
  • Work with various internal teams to develop campaign reporting, monitoring and tracking against campaign goals and key performance indicators.
  • Develop professional relationships with clinical, research and education leaders across St. Michael¿s Hospital and Providence Healthcare to support the funding priorities of Unity Health Toronto and the Campaign.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

·A University degree or a combination of comparable skills and experience.

·Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience working in fundraising or equivalent experience in major gift fundraising with a proven track record in cultivation and solicitation.

·Demonstrated leadership and the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and diverse areas.

·Ability to initiate, analyze, monitor, evaluate and alter strategic fundraising and stewardship plans.

·Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate in a compelling manner with audiences of all sizes.

·Excellent interpersonal skills.

·Experience collaborating with senior volunteers and volunteer committees/boards in a wide range of capacities.

·Ability to work with senior leaders, physicians, and other foundations effectively and collaboratively.

·Understanding of healthcare delivery system in Ontario.

·Exemplary attention to detail with excellent planning, organizational and time management skills.

·Ability to work independently using an above average level of initiative.

·Enjoys working in a fast paced, dynamic organization with the ability to relate to a variety of personality and communication styles.

·Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of the mission and values of St. Michael¿s Hospital, Providence Healthcare and the St. Michael's Foundation.

·Willingness to work flexible hours.
