Summary

The director is responsible for the development, implementation and execution of sales strategies that clearly define achievable revenue, profit margin, customer development and marketing objectives in line with facility capacity and technical capabilities.

The Commercial Director is a key member of the Jubilant HollisterStier Montreal management team.

Responsabilities

  • Generate new business relationships to grow the company's current client base.
  • Maintain good relationships with current customers to expand product lines and increase volumes of existing products.
  • Stay current with changes and enhancements to the marketplace and industry standards, develop and adjust marketing plans accordingly.
  • Develop annual corporate revenue forecast and budget.
  • Report variances to budget on a monthly, quarterly and/or semi-annual basis.
  • May be required to provide re-forecasts of revenue from time to time.
  • Develop annual commercial department cost budget and manage to same.
  • Liase with manufacturing and technical divisions to keep informed of technological enhancements to expand product offerings or volume and productivity increases.
  • Conduct financial feasibility studies and develop proposals for new business opportunities.
  • Provide superior levels of customer service by providing timely product information, expertise and service as required.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and quality/regulatory group for optimization of operations and processes for New Product Introductions.
  • Develop short and long term strategic and business plans, manage budgets and sales performance.
  • Provide leadership regarding business growth, development and vision to the commercial department team.
  • May assume key account management responsibilities.
  • Deliver projects on time, meeting budgets and quality standards.
  • Participate in trade shows.
  • Participate in monthly S&OP meetings to balance and align capacity with demand.
  • Negotiate new customer supply agreements and renegotiate renewals of expiring existing agreements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or Commerce, MBA an asset
  • At least 10 years of solid and successful business development and customer service management experience within a like "Business to Business" environment selling technical know how, manufacturing capacity and associated services.
  • A proven track record of strong executive relationship building skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with a formal ERP system (SAP preferred) relative to demand planning and sales order management.
  • Bilingualism is preferred however an excellent command of English is required in order to interface with international customer base.
  • Conversant with general business/contract law and supply agreement preparation.
  • Aptitude to prepare complex business plans, budgets and forecasts.
