Position Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing, the Senior Brand Manager is responsible for the development and execution of the marketing plans and programs to drive profitable growth for the assigned brands. Works closely with cross functional teams to recommend marketing strategies, develop tactical plans and execution guidelines. Works with external partners to ensure execution of the marketing programs and plans within required parameters.

Key Accountabilities:

Strategic Planning

  • Responsible for leading the development and implementation of annual marketing plans for short and long-term brand building including innovation, optimization, advertising and promotional activities.
  • In collaboration with customer insights, analyses internal and market/consumer data to identify issues and opportunities, monitor trends and mitigate risks for assigned brand.
  • Responsible for maintaining good knowledge of competitors and customers so that Sofina's branded business is competitively marketed.
  • Recommends performance metrics and criteria, to optimally build and drive brands' performance/value and to create stronger consumer engagement.
  • Establishes marketing investment recommendations and ensures execution of programs and initiatives within these budgets.

Product and Portfolio Management

  • Evaluates business performance of the assigned brands based on established criteria, identifies / recommends areas of further improvements.
  • Recommends and leads new branded projects and works closely with product development, innovation, sales, finance, operations, and legal teams in the development and execution.
  • Tracks, monitors and measures success of marketing/campaign/promotional initiatives and opportunities with a strong emphasis on data analysis.

Communications Planning and Execution

  • Develops and executes advertising and promotional tactics to drive brand revenue, value, and build brand equity.
  • Lead communications strategy across all owned, earned and paid media.
  • Ensure consistent brand voice and messaging across all communication channels.

Build and Grow High performing Team

  • Build organizational technical capabilities by providing day-to-day coaching and mentoring to brand report, cross-functional team and external partners.
  • Provide strategic direction, set plans and goals for brand manager.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a Degree/Diploma in Marketing, Business Administration or a related field (MBA is considered an asset).
  • 7-10+ years experience in Brand management within Consumer Packaged Goods, ideally in Food.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical abilities, utilizing data to support business decisions.
  • Knowledge of advertising, media planning, copy development and packaging graphics development.
  • A detail-oriented self starter individual with the ability to multi-task and ability to influence the organization and key stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • A proven track record building relationships, establishing credibility, and gaining alignment with a broad range of internal and external partners.
  • Travel within GTA is required 5-10% of the time.
