About The Role

This role is built for a seasoned Account Director with a proven track record of delivering results, growing client accounts and landing new business. We're looking for someone who's spent years leading multi-faceted marketing for brands (inc. pitching, research, scoping, brand strategy, SEM/Display, paid/organic social, conversion rate optimization/UX, and analytics/reporting) and leading others to do the same.

In this role, you'll be accountable for leading clients through every step and stage of account strategy, execution and reporting. You'll require exceptional organizational skills and a quick, resourceful, solutions-oriented approach. You'll also need to bring a strong work ethic, a calm and confident presence, a detail-oriented attitude, and sharp marketing and business acumen.

Responsibilities

Brand-Obsessed Expert

Know the:

  • Nuances of the industry each of your brands operates in
  • Short and long-term objectives of each of your brands
  • Unique value proposition (UVP) for each of your brands
  • Key sales messages (KSMs) for each of your brands
  • Nuances of the target audience for each of your brands
  • Strengths and areas of opportunity for each of your brands
  • Brand's competitors and what differentiates each of them

Technical Expert

Have a solid understanding of:

  • Project management basics and functional understanding of one or more project management / time-tracking tools
  • Analytics and reporting software (i.e. Google Analytics, Sprout Social, Ninja Cat, etc.)
  • Brand strategy (i.e. brand platform and positioning, etc.)
  • Creative best practices (i.e. brand expression, brand identity, etc.)
  • Digital marketing tactics (i.e. email, SEO, SEM/display ads, paid and organic social, etc.)
  • Website best practices (i.e. visual compliance, UI/UX, conversion rate optimization, etc.)

Strong Strategist and Clear Communicator

  • Actively lead account strategy creation
  • Actively lead the creation and delivery of client presentations
  • Clearly communicate with cross-functional teams internally and with clients
  • Write professionally (emails, briefs, proposals, etc.)
  • Regularly communicate progress on timelines and escalate issues to Senior Leadership

Detail-Oriented Project Manager

  • Actively lead the creation of detailed project estimates leveraging subject matter experts
  • Actively lead the creation of SOWs/proposals leveraging subject matter experts
  • Actively lead the completion of financial underpinning documents on new projects
  • Proactively identify opportunities to grow accounts
  • Identify scope changes and create change orders
  • Actively lead the creation of well-informed and strategic project briefs
  • Actively lead the creation of work-back schedules for projects
  • Encourage time-tracking for all tasks
  • Support in the day-to-day execution of client projects
  • Speak accurately about the status of all client projects and immediate next steps in detail
  • Reliably update accurate and detailed status reports

  • Demonstrate an active interest in refining and growing your cross-functional skillset through self-learning, certifications, courses and mentorship
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve workflows within the company
  • Review deliverables before sending them out to clients to ensure top-quality work and raise questions/concerns to Senior Leadership members in a timely manner

Skills & Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of account management experience in an agency environment
  • Proven experience as an Account Director/Account Supervisor leading client strategy and relationships
  • Degree or Diploma (Focus on Business or Marketing an asset)
  • Deep experience forming strong client relationships
  • Knowledge of agency requirements and operations
  • Proficiency with project management tool(s)(i.e. Monday, Wrike, Harvest, Asana, etc.)
  • Certifications are an asset (i.e.)
    • Google Analytics
    • Google Ads
    • LinkedIn Learning
    • Meta Blueprint
    • Hubspot
