About the role:

As a Human Resources Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the HR department and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of various HR functions. You will be responsible for assisting with, onboarding new employees, administering HR policies and procedures, managing employee relations, and supporting various HR projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR best practices, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate a seamless onboarding experience for all new hires.
  • Administer HR policies and procedures, including but not limited to employee benefits, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on HR-related inquiries, issues, and concerns.
  • Support the roll-out, adoption and maintenance of HRIS
  • Support the implementation of training and development initiatives
  • Assist with the development and implementation of HR initiatives, programs, and policies to support the company's strategic objectives.
  • Conduct research and stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in HR to continuously improve HR processes and practices.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure HR initiatives align with business objectives and contribute to a positive work environment.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a human resources role, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software.
  • HR certification (e.g., CHRP) is a plus.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
