National Coordinator, Event Fundraising

We’re currently seeking a National Coordinator, Event Fundraising to join our team and support the daily operations and growth of our fundraising events. At JDRF, this portfolio includes Signature Events (Walk and Ride), Regional Galas and Fundraise Your Way (third-party fundraising events).

In this role, you would be a key link in information sharing between our national and regional teams.

Program Administration

  • Support the overall coordination of the Event Fundraising programs including providing effective internal communications and support to staff.
  • Support the organization of information and activity with respect to all Event Fundraising programs including maintaining master tracking documents, managing file sharing through Project (Microsoft) Teams Channel(s) and maintaining the team’s SharePoint site, with close attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Provide weekly updates to JDRF Regional Teams and support national training and information sessions to inform and update on all Event Fundraising programs.
  • Proactively provide suggestions and alternative approaches when working through challenges and obstacles, with a focus on keeping internal and external customer service top of mind.
  • Work collaboratively with JDRF Regional Teams and other National Support Office (NSO) Teams to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in all Fundraising Program elements.
  • Act as the first point of contact internally for the JDRF Regional Teams, providing prompt, professional, trusted and exceptional service.
  • Work closely with the National Customer Service, IT and Finance Teams to respond to supporter inquiries in a timely and supporter-centric manner.

Event Fundraising Support

  • Assist Regional Teams with the creation of fundraising tools and resources for internal and external audiences aimed to aid in direct supporter engagement and fundraising support for Signature Events and Fundraise Your Way programs.
  • Coordinate incentive, prizing and contests programs including fundraising rewards, executing contest rules and regulations, necessary legal documentation, and managing the deployment of all prizes, incentives and contests
  • Work with JDRF’s incentive and prizing partners to ensure a smooth fulfillment of all incentive prizes for our participants.
  • Support with post-event activities for Signature and Community Events.
  • Support with the development of websites for Signature Events, Fundraise Your Way and independent ticketed events
  • Ensure fundraising staff are educated on the event marketing plan and that all event messaging is available internally prior to distribution to event participants.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Communications team to determine the needs of the JDRF Regional Teams for collateral assets and communications against program requirements.

Event Operations Support

  • Assist Event Operations Team with securing permits/licensing/insurance needs for Signature and Community events.
  • Lead the development and execution of Day of Event documentation and support with data management and post-event wrap up.
  • Provide in-person support on Event Day(s) within local area.

Here’s the skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in an event or program coordination role
  • Experience working in a National organization and/or not-for-profit sector an asset
  • Bilingual in French and English would be considered an asset
  • Experience working with a CRM and Fundraising Platforms and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Self-starter, always looking for ways to help the efficiency and organization of the team
  • High attention to detail
  • Creative thinker
  • Ability to work within a tight timeline, with competing priorities and prioritize in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of event-based fundraising
  • Service and solution-orientated mindset
  • Proven ability to communicate professionally at all levels of an organization.

Salary for the new incumbent is anticipated to be within the range of $53,000 to $58,000, commensurate with skills and experience in relation to the role requirements.

Location Preference: Anywhere within Canada – this position will work remotely from a home-office
