Sales associate

Serve customers and accept, sort, price and put out merchandise.

• Contributes to meeting store sales budgets by maintaining customer service standards
• Greets customers and informs of safety protocols, standards, etc. Answers questions about the Terrace Salvation Army store - fitting rooms, return policy, safety protocols, etc.
• Implements store layout plans to attract customers including window displays and merchandise displays; ensures attractiveness of the store through "Tidy Maintenance"
• Replenishes inventory levels based on Supervisor's directions
• Processes donated household items by unloading, sorting, placing and loading donated items
• Sorts donated clothing by judging the condition of items, hang and prices good condition clothing
• Contributes to the control of inventory by retrieving, sorting, and pricing as per directions; protects the store from inventory shrinkage by close visual monitoring
• Contributes to the safety of staff and customers (e.g. sanitizing, snow removal, clear fire exits, no obstacles inside/outside store, cleans spillage and maintains store cleanliness)
• Performs other duties as assigned

40 hours a week Tuesday-Saturday

Education/Certifications:

• Completion of High School (an alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable)

Experience:

• Up to three (3) months prior experience, including life skills

Required Skills/Knowledge:

• Heavy lifting: able to lift up to 25 pounds repeatedly
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Universal precautions

Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:

• Background check consent
• A clear vulnerable sector screening
• A clean drivers abstract
• Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
