Industrial Outside Sales Specialist – Industrial, Automation & Controls – Electrical sector Home-Based Opportunity - Okanagan, Kootenay, Cariboo Region, British Columbia Our client, a powerhouse in the electrical and automation industrial distribution sector, is seeking an Industrial Outside Sales Specialist (Automation and Controls) to join their national team. Cameron Lappin of Lock Search Group has been engaged to find a technical ‘controls & automation’ sales professional with an electrical background to cover the Okanagan and Northern BC territory. In this strategic role your primary responsibility is to manage, support, and grow revenue and market share, by working closely with both internal sales and outside sales stakeholders, as well strategically with target customers, and key supplier/channel partners. This is a home-based position. The successful candidate must reside in the Okanagan or Cariboo region. The Industrial Outside Sales Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead, manage, and develop solutions utilizing selected OEM industrial focused products, including automation and control systems (i.e. PLCs), HMIs, Hardware and SCADA systems, while integrating diverse automation components. You will engage with end-users to understand needs, provide support, and ensure successful project implementation with both internal teams and external partners. This role has a strong mandate for relationship building and maintenance of an active book of business, as well focusing on new customer acquisition across the Okanagan, Kootenay, Northern BC region. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and highly-motivated professional, who has compelling drive and technical aptitude. Position Overview: Accountable for fostering and sustaining sales relationships with each End User client/prospects in the MRO, and OEM markets, such as Mining, Forestry, Energy, Production and Manufacturing sectors Utilizes industry expertise to generate demand and sway decision-makers by crafting compelling purchasing justifications across all levels of a company Delivers training sessions to external and internal customers to ensure they stay abreast of technological advancements in electricals product solutions that support the specific clients in the above-mentioned end-user sectors. Engage in prospecting, penetrating target customers, and executing strategic sales strategies to consistently surpass annual goals and expand market share. Educate and support Branch Managers, Account Managers, and Insides Sales Representatives and colleagues, with identifying and closing Industrial/Automation sales prospects across the Okanagan and Northern BC market. Develops yearly strategic plans for sales enhancement within assigned geographic regions. Offers mentorship and training to both internal and external stakeholders. Help resolve technical dilemmas linked to automations systems, software, and hardware components. Requirements: Post Secondary education is desirable, or a track record and transferable experience in Industrial electrical sector, including Automation & Controls sales Preference for a professional with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. A strong technical background and prior sales experience within the Industrial electrical sector. Exceptional interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), presentation skills and a history of long-term customer relationships. Results-driven with strong sales and marketing discipline, and organizational skills. Experience working with all levels of an influencers including Integrators, Engineers, Procurement, Facilities/Maintenance and Project Management.
