Role Summary The Assistant Sales Manager supports the Sales Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Sales Department, helping to drive vehicle sales, team performance, and customer satisfaction. This role provides leadership, coaching, and operational support to the sales team while ensuring adherence to dealership processes, company policies, and manufacturer standards. The Assistant Sales Manager works collaboratively with all dealership departments to create an exceptional customer experience, achieve sales objectives, and contribute to the overall success of the dealership. Key Responsibilities * Support the Sales Manager in leading, motivating, and coaching the sales team to achieve individual and dealership sales targets. * Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing development of sales consultants to ensure consistent performance and adherence to process. * Help monitor daily sales activity, including lead management, customer follow-up, and deal progression through the sales funnel. * Work closely with the Finance & Insurance team to ensure smooth deal coordination, maximizing profitability and maintaining a strong customer experience. * Support the execution of dealership sales strategies, promotions, and marketing initiatives as directed by leadership. * Ensure compliance with company policies, manufacturer standards, and all applicable regulatory requirements within the sales process. * Assist in managing inventory flow by communicating market feedback and supporting coordination with leadership on vehicle ordering, pricing, and merchandising. * Step in to support customer resolution and escalations, helping to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. * Track and report key sales performance metrics to the Sales Manager to support decision-making and identify areas of opportunity. * Contribute to and help maintain a positive, high-performance team culture aligned with the values of the Steve Marshall Group. Qualifications * Previous automotive sales experience, with demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and delivering exceptional customer service. * Prior leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience is considered an asset. * Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. * Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and inspire a team. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills. * Proficient in CRM systems, dealership management software, and Microsoft Office Suite. * Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions. * Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
