Job details
At Space Race Cannabis, we're on a mission to boldly elevate the cannabis experience across Canada. Since acquiring our license we've taken off across multiple provinces and territories, including Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Newfoundland and Labrador, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut, with more Eastern expansion to come. We are seeking an experienced and driven Regional Sales Manager - East to lead our sales efforts in Ontario and Atlantic Canada and execute our regional sales strategy. Ontario is the largest cannabis market in the country and is the primary focus of this role, with Newfoundland and Labrador and future Eastern markets rounding out the territory. This role reports directly to the VP Sales and Marketing and is key to our continued growth. It will focus on managing our Eastern sales force, driving revenue, and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts across the region. This is a role you build: as our sales in the East grow, so does the scope, the team, and the opportunity for the person in it. * Own regional sales performance across Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador, developing and executing the go-to-market plan to drive brand growth and revenue for Space Race, Violet Tourist, Beach Bum and Shoestring across the East. * Lead, coach, and develop the Eastern sales team, including direct management of Territory Managers and agency partners, and expand the team as regional sales growth supports it. * Oversee revenue performance from all major and key retail accounts in the region, building senior-level relationships with top Ontario retailers and acting as the primary point of contact for regional partnerships. * Manage the OCS relationship at the regional level, including product calls, listings, promotional programs, and in-market execution, and support the NLC relationship in Newfoundland and Labrador. * Set aggressive yet achievable sales targets for the region, implement performance management systems, and hold the team accountable to consistently exceed revenue and distribution objectives. * Plan and execute seasonal promotions, trade marketing campaigns, and product launches in the East in alignment with national marketing plans and within an approved trade spend budget. * Own regional sales forecasting, sell-through and depletion analysis, competitive analysis, and market intelligence, delivering regular reporting and recommendations to the VP Sales and Marketing. * Build and maintain strategic account plans for key retail partners, driving deeper penetration, exclusive programs, and long-term growth opportunities across the Eastern Canadian cannabis market. * Lead the launch of new Eastern provinces and territories as they open, establishing distribution and retail relationships from day one. Qualifications * Minimum 2 years of sales experience in the Canadian cannabis industry, with direct experience selling into the Ontario retail market and/or working with the OCS. * Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in a competitive category. * Experience managing sales representatives, agencies, or brokers. * Strong working knowledge of sell-through and depletion data, trade spend management, and retail account planning. * Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills. * Based in Ontario with a valid driver's licence and the ability to travel regularly across the province, to Atlantic Canada, and to our Edmonton head office as required. This is a full-time role based in Ontario with regular travel across the region. Space Race Cannabis offers a competitive compensation package (base + commission) and significant career growth potential in a fast-moving cannabis brand. Salary Range: $80,000 to $105,000, pending experience, plus commission and STIP eligibility. Location: Ontario. Pay: $80,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year Work Location: Ontario, remote with regular in-market travel
