About the role

Overview Do you want to work on some of Canada’s largest and most recognized iconic brands? Reporting to the SR. Director of Insights & Market Intelligence, this position is accountable for being the voice of the consumer and will lead a team of primary research and analytics professionals in support of our brand and portfolio strategies. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the total Foods Portfolio, including brands like Lays, Doritos, Tostitos & Quaker. The Director of Consumer Insights is a senior strategic leader responsible for translating consumer, shopper, and market data into actionable insights that drive brand growth, innovation, and business strategy within the Foods portfolio. This role partners closely with Marketing, R&D, Sales, and Category teams to embed a consumer-first mindset and enable data-driven decision making across the organization. Lead and develop a high-performing insights team while building enterprise capability. Full responsibility for the Organization’s learning agenda including the design and execution of qualitative and quantitative research programs (e.g., brand tracking, concept testing, U&A studies). Synthesize multiple data sources, including primary research and syndicated data, into actionable insights. Identify growth opportunities, emerging consumer trends, and whitespace across product categories. Translate insights into clear recommendations to inform innovation, brand positioning, and commercialization decisions. Serve as a strategic partner to Marketing, R&D, and Sales, embedding insights into key business decisions. Manage external research partners and vendors while ensuring efficient budget allocation. Present clear, compelling insight narratives to senior leadership to drive impact. Champion a consumer-centric culture across the organization. Qualifications 10–15+ years of experience in Consumer Insights, Market Research, or Marketing, preferably within the Food or CPG industry. Proven experience leading a strategic team and influencing senior stakeholders. Deep expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into business action. Experience with syndicated and custom research sources (e.g., Nielsen, Circana, Ipsos, Kantar). Demonstrated leadership of teams and cross-functional collaboration. Strong communication and storytelling skills with ability to influence cross-functional executive audiences. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Psychology, Statistics, or related field MBA or advanced degree preferred.
