Overview
To act as a Senior Vice President, Head of Property in the best interests of the company. This is a revenue-producing role, responsible for managing and providing quality service to meet the growing demands and needs of AJG clients/agents, ensuring optimum account retention and revenue growth. The role requires ensuring clients’ interests are central to decision-making and aligned with AJG values, with additional responsibilities for staff development and strategic leadership.
How you'll make an impact
Business Development and Client Engagement: Identify new business opportunities and actively pursue conversations with AJG Retail Brokers, RPS and other approved business partners to develop the property new business pipeline. Develop and implement strategies to expand existing relationships including opportunities to cross-sell with other line heads. Participate in industry events (locally and abroad) and networking activities to build brand visibility. Generate new business income in line with AJG principles and values. Increase existing business outcomes by identifying new and additional exposures, recommending solutions, promoting other products, and maintaining relationships. Plan goals/tasks in line with team objectives. Participate in Gallagher RFP and BOR initiatives. Brokerage Operations: Oversee the day-to-day activities of the property broking team, including assigning accounts, managing workflow, and ensuring quality service delivery. Analyze market conditions, pricing trends, and coverage options to provide informed advice to clients. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and proactively identify potential program issues or concerns on renewals and new business. Receive requests for quotes, develop, and maintain a network of broker relationships. Market customer business to network of Bermuda carriers. Identify appropriate carriers, send requests, negotiate favorable quotes, and prepare recommendations. Understand clients' risk profiles and proactively develop customized insurance solutions to meet their needs. Lead client renewal processes, including strategy development, market analysis, and coverage negotiation in partnership with retail and production counterparts. Market Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key insurance carriers and underwriters in the property market. Negotiate favorable terms and conditions for clients during the placement process. Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and new product developments. Maintain a broad knowledge of relevant markets and changes across the industry to keep clients/agents informed and provide effective risk management advice in line with AJG principles and values. Team Leadership: Mentor and coach junior brokers to develop their technical expertise and client service skills. As the book grows, recruit and hire new talent to strengthen the property broking team. Foster a collaborative environment within the team and promote knowledge sharing. Oversee the management and development of staff to the extent required in accordance with compliance regulations. Build a sales culture and guide staff in developing and implementing business activities that will drive growth. Strategic Leadership: Work with the Managing Director to establish overall direction and strategic initiatives for property that will drive growth and profitability. Collaborate closely with business line heads to agree on market positioning and expansion strategies for their business units. Work with Managing Director to develop and implement sales plans with business heads to grow income. Represent Gallagher at relevant industry conferences and events to enhance the company's reputation and visibility in the market. Contribute to the execution of the company’s Dominant Priorities and sales goals. Drive cross-sell activity across the wider Gallagher organization. Compliance and Governance: Comply with AJG Professional Standards Manual in accordance with statutory requirements for the role, with specific attention to Managing Client Information, Whistle Blowing, and Treating Customers Fairly. Carry out duties following internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, good governance, and Gallagher’s shared values, particularly putting clients at the heart of our business.
