Job Description

We are seeking a self-motivated, business-savvy, and revenue-oriented individual to join our team as a Social Sales Manager. This individual will help promote and sell our exceptional five-star service for a wide range of social events including weddings, fundraisers, birthdays, showers, and other special occasions.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meet with potential clients and conduct venue site tours.
  • Prepare clear and effective written proposals and contracts for current and prospective clients.
  • Follow up with prospective clients and advise on customizable menu options that meet their requirements and budget.
  • Follow up on menu adjustments when applicable.
  • Follow up on tentative contracts and all incoming sales leads.
  • Confirm contracts in a timely manner.
  • Upsell affiliated companies and brands, including Engine8 Media for print and digital media, gift baskets, and additional event services.
  • Prepare event invoices.
  • Achieve established sales targets and revenue goals.
  • Reply promptly to phone calls and emails.
  • Send information letters, promotional materials, and event quotes to clients.
  • Collaborate with the Food & Beverage team to strategize new and creative menu ideas.
  • Identify creative opportunities to increase sales.
  • Monitor and maintain website inquiries and updates.
  • Work closely with the executive team to ensure all contractual terms, deposit schedules, and final billing confirmations are executed properly.
  • Attend and participate in meetings to review event logistics and communicate last-minute changes accurately to all departments.

Qualifications and Expectations

The successful candidate must possess post-secondary education in Sales & Marketing, Business Communication/Administration, Hospitality, or a related field, along with 1–3 years of experience in a sales position.

This is a full-time salaried position with an expectation of no less than 44 hours per week. Evening and weekend availability is required.

  • Ability to tailor sales strategies to different types of clientele.
  • Strong results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to follow pricing structures to ensure menus and budgets remain profitable.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capability to recommend alternative menus, décor, room layouts, or venue options to suit client needs.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • Demonstrated customer focus with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Creative, trend-conscious, and innovative approach to event sales.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to quickly learn catering software and floor plan programs such as Microsoft Visio.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Schedule Expectations

This role is event-based and requires evening, weekend, and occasional early morning availability. A forecasted two-week schedule will be planned in coordination with the General Manager.
