Job Description
MLSE is looking for a sales Strategist with a passion for problem-solving and thinking outside of the box to join the Partnership Development & Solutions team. The Partnership Development & Solutions team is responsible for supporting the growth of the Global Partnerships business, discovering opportunities for growth aligned with our objectives and organizational purpose, and supporting new business development goals with a proactive and thoughtful lens. Reporting to the Director, Global Partnerships this role will focus driving sponsorship revenue and unlocking new opportunities for all of MLSE’s sports properties, including acting as the commercial lead for organizational initiatives to build and execute our go-to-market approach.
We are looking for candidates who are excited about discovering new opportunities, are comfortable with ambiguity, and are eager for a challenge. The ideal candidate will be a creative, energetic and organized thought leader capable of leveraging research and insights to build integrated partnership models and executive-facing strategic frameworks. The ideal candidate is constantly curious, creative, and organized thought leader capable of multitasking, evaluating new opportunities, communicating key insights with an executive tone, and liaising with senior internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Act as Global Partnerships sales strategy lead for new organizational initiatives, events, programs and sellable assets. Proactively identify new revenue-driving opportunities. Act as partnerships lead for highest value assets (e.g., uniform entitlements), building go-to-market approach in collaboration with Partnership Development and Partnership Marketing teams. Develop a deep and thorough understanding of partnership business (including short / long term vision, strategic pillars and associated financial results and/or projections), and help craft executive facing materials at major business milestones. Lead the development of external-facing partnership documents, including presentations/decks and new business proposals. Stay current on developments and business/marketing trends within key categories. Stay current on industry trends and effectively share insights and best practices, especially around sports, events, and sponsorship marketing. Build and foster trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Participates in prospective and existing partner presentation meetings.
Qualifications
Post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in a business-related discipline. 3-5 years of related and meaningful experience in a marketing, strategy, sales or consulting role. Experience leading projects from insights generation to completion. Solid comprehension of marketing, business development, partnerships and research fundamentals. Ability to provide strategic insight, thought leadership and clear communication (written and verbal) to internal and external stakeholders. Excellent deck building and presentation skills, and comfortable with public speaking. Excellent time and project management skills. Ability to build and maintain professional relationships both internally and externally. Proven to be inclusive and empathetic within a team environment, through seeking to understand others’ perspectives and incorporate them into approaches. Ability to operate in an ambiguous and fluid environment. Ability to perform well under pressure and handle multiple priorities at the same time. A positive, winning approach, incorporating integrity, confidentiality and discretion. Availability on occasional evenings and weekends as needed due to the nature of our event management business.

Job Posting Compensation Range/Rate
$70,000.00 - $95,000.00
