About the Opportunity Our client is an established B2B brand strategy consultancy that partners with leading organizations to sharpen how they position, communicate, and grow. The business is looking for a senior brand strategist to lead client engagements end to end and help raise the calibre of strategic work across the portfolio. The Role We are seeking a Fractional Director of Brand Strategy to lead brand and positioning work for a range of B2B clients. This role is equal parts strategic leadership, hands-on delivery, and executive partnership. You'll work directly with the founder, owning engagements from discovery through to strategy and execution, and bringing structured brand thinking to every stage.
The right person will be senior enough to advise executive stakeholders and lead independently, but hands-on enough to get into the detail, build the frameworks, and deliver the work themselves.
Key Responsibilities
Brand & Positioning Leadership Lead the development of brand positioning, architecture, messaging frameworks, value propositions, and brand governance. Translate complex business challenges into clear brand strategies and market positioning. Develop messaging platforms and brand narratives that support long-term commercial growth.
Engagement & Stakeholder Management Facilitate discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, and strategic workshops. Present recommendations and strategic thinking directly to executive and C-level stakeholders. Lead multiple engagements independently, with a high degree of autonomy, across distributed and cross-timezone teams.
Strategy to Execution Build integrated campaign and go-to-market strategies, then translate them into practical execution plans. Ensure consistency and quality across all brand touchpoints from strategy through delivery. Manage campaign priorities and budgets, making sound strategic investment decisions and tracking performance.
AI-Enabled Ways of Working Integrate AI naturally into daily work to improve the quality, speed, and effectiveness of strategic output - impact matters more than the specific tools.
What We're Looking For 5+ years within a brand consultancy or agency environment Strong B2B experience, ideally in Tech, SaaS, Enterprise Software, or Manufacturing. Director-level seniority with strong executive presence; senior managers ready to step into more ownership will also be considered. Depth across positioning, brand architecture, messaging frameworks, value proposition, and brand governance. A commercial mindset that connects brand perception to business outcomes.
This role is not focused on graphic design, art direction, or creative production. Our client is looking for a strategist who uses brand to solve business challenges, not a creative producer.
