The product is priced in CAD and tailored to how Canadian organizations plan and execute their largest fundraising events of the year. Aucti focuses on simplifying event and auction operations, improving guest experiences, and maximizing fundraising outcomes. Joining Aucti means helping shape a product that directly supports the impact of nonprofits across Canada.
Role Description The Founding Business Development Partner is a full-time, fully remote role open to candidates across Canada. This role is responsible for developing and executing the go-to-market strategy, including identifying target segments, building prospect lists, and creating outreach plans. Day-to-day work includes generating and qualifying leads, conducting discovery calls and product demos with nonprofit organizations, and managing the sales pipeline from first contact through close. The role also involves building and nurturing long-term relationships with nonprofit leaders, fundraising professionals, and sector partners, as well as gathering customer feedback to inform product improvements. The Founding Business Development Partner will collaborate closely with the founders on pricing, positioning, and partnerships, and will help establish core sales processes, metrics, and tools as the company grows.
Compensation This is a founding-level role with a commission-plus-equity structure: uncapped commission on revenue you close, plus meaningful equity participation in an early-stage company. This is a build-from-zero opportunity for someone who wants ownership and upside over a fixed salary.
Qualifications Proven experience in business development, sales, or partnership-building, ideally in SaaS, technology, or nonprofit/fundraising environments. Strong skills in prospecting, lead qualification, pipeline management, and closing new business in a consultative sales model. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities, with comfort speaking to executive, board, and fundraising stakeholders. Ability to design and refine go-to-market strategies, including market segmentation, outreach campaigns, and basic sales collateral. Comfort working in an early-stage startup: highly self-directed, adaptable, and willing to test, learn, and iterate quickly. Familiarity with Canadian nonprofit operations, fundraising events, or gala auctions is a strong asset. Experience using CRM and productivity tools to track activities, forecast revenue, and report on key metrics. Willingness to travel occasionally within Canada for in-person meetings and events as needed.
