As a trusted advisor to clients and an advocate for Shindey Associates' multidisciplinary expertise, you will play a critical role in identifying opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, leading pursuit efforts, and securing high-value projects. Role Description The Business Development Manager will lead strategic business development initiatives focused on the Mining and Natural Resources sector. This role requires a highly motivated professional who can engage senior decision-makers, understand client priorities, shape pursuit strategies, and guide opportunities from initial engagement through successful project award. This position offers significant visibility across the organization and industry, with approximately 50% travel required for client meetings, industry forums, conferences, trade shows, and business development activities throughout North America. Key Responsibilities Strategic Business Development Develop and execute a strategic growth plan aligned with Shindey Associates' business objectives. Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the mining and natural resources sector. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry partners, and key stakeholders. Engage with client representatives to understand operational priorities, capital programs, and future project opportunities. Represent Shindey Associates at industry conferences, networking events, trade shows, and professional associations. Pursuit Leadership & Proposal Development Lead and coordinate business development and pursuit activities from opportunity identification through contract award. Collaborate with project management, engineering, and technical teams to develop capture strategies and competitive solutions. Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and commercial submissions. Participate in Go/No-Go evaluations and secure internal approvals for major pursuits. Contribute to bid strategy, proposal development, and cost proposal preparation where required. Deliver compelling presentations to prospective clients and industry stakeholders. Relationship Management Maintain long-standing relationships with existing mining and natural resource clients while cultivating new partnerships. Serve as a trusted advisor by understanding client challenges and connecting them with the appropriate expertise and solutions. Strengthen Shindey Associates' reputation as a responsive, knowledgeable, and trusted partner. Marketing & Corporate Growth Support the development and maintenance of marketing materials, project profiles, case studies, and key personnel resumes. Provide regular business development updates and pipeline reports to senior leadership. Contribute to corporate growth initiatives and strategic planning discussions.

Qualifications University degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Project Management, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Minimum eight (8) years of experience in business development, proposal writing, pursuit management, or bid management within engineering consulting, asset management, infrastructure, or related industries. Demonstrated success developing client relationships and securing new business opportunities. Strong understanding of proposal development, competitive pursuits, and business growth strategies. Exceptional verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Preferred Experience supporting mining, natural resources, industrial, infrastructure, or related client groups across North America. Established relationships within the mining and natural resources sector. Project Management Professional (PMP) designation. Bilingualism in English and French. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project. Experience preparing technical and commercial proposals for consulting or engineering services.
