Position Overview PAL Power is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to lead customer development, strategic partnerships, government engagement and commercial opportunities in the clean-energy and power sectors. The successful candidate will identify new projects, develop relationships with key stakeholders, lead proposals and support the commercialization of PAL Power’s technologies and engineering capabilities. Candidates who demonstrate strong potential but do not meet all senior-level experience requirements may be considered for a Business Development Specialist or Business Development Manager position. Key Responsibilities • Identify new business opportunities in microgrids, battery storage, renewable energy, grid modernization and power-system consulting. • Develop relationships with utilities, government agencies, municipalities, Indigenous organizations, developers, engineering firms and commercial customers. • Build and manage a qualified pipeline of customers, projects and strategic partnerships. • Lead customer meetings, presentations, proposals and commercial discussions. • Monitor government, utility and private-sector procurement opportunities. • Lead or support responses to RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, expressions of interest and funding applications. • Coordinate with engineers and technical team members to develop project scopes, value propositions and customer solutions. • Translate technical information into clear and persuasive commercial proposals. • Identify government grants, demonstration programs and clean-technology funding opportunities. • Develop partnerships with universities, research organizations, equipment suppliers, EPC contractors and consulting firms. • Maintain customer and opportunity information using CRM or internal business-development tracking systems. • Represent PAL Power at conferences, industry events, government meetings and customer presentations. • Support company marketing materials, capability statements, presentations and market-entry strategies. • Provide market intelligence and business-development updates to company leadership. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, energy, economics, public policy or a related field. • Five or more years of experience in business development, technical sales, partnerships, proposal management or project development is preferred. • Experience in energy, utilities, engineering consulting, infrastructure, clean technology or related industries. • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and manage long-cycle business opportunities. • Experience preparing proposals, presentations and commercial documents. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate them to non-technical stakeholders. • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines. • Ability to work independently in a growing and entrepreneurial company environment. Preferred Experience Candidates with any of the following experience will receive priority consideration: • Previous experience working with federal, provincial or municipal governments. • Experience working with Crown corporations, public utilities or government-funded organizations. • Knowledge of public-sector procurement and government contracting. • Experience responding to RFPs, RFQs, RFIs and funding applications. • Existing relationships within the Canadian energy, utility, government or engineering sectors. • Experience with microgrids, battery storage, renewable energy, grid modernization or distributed energy resources. • Experience working with Indigenous communities or Indigenous-owned businesses. • Experience in clean-technology commercialization or startup environments. • Experience with government grants, innovation programs or research partnerships.
