Assistant Catering & Events Sales Manager
Position Summary
Support the growth of corporate catering and banquet business through sales development, client relationship management, event planning, and operational support. This role is responsible for generating new business, maintaining client relationships, coordinating events, and ensuring exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Generate new corporate catering and banquet business through prospecting, networking, cold calling, email outreach, and referrals. Conduct office and on-site sales visits to businesses, corporations, associations, government offices, and event planners to initiate and develop leads. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients to drive repeat and annual contract business. Conduct site tours, sales presentations, and client meetings. Prepare proposals, quotations, contracts, event agreements, invoices, and billing documentation. Manage leads, client databases, CRM records, and follow-up activities to convert inquiries into confirmed bookings. Coordinate with the banquet, culinary, and operations teams to ensure successful event planning and execution. Support all aspects of events, including planning, setup, service, client communication, and post-event follow-up. Respond to client inquiries, provide venue and package information, and ensure customer satisfaction before, during, and after events. Attend networking events, trade shows, and business functions to promote catering services and generate new opportunities. Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities. Perform administrative duties including filing, reporting, processing invoices, handling phone calls, and maintaining event records. Achieve monthly and annual sales targets while delivering exceptional customer service.
Requirements & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in Hospitality, Business, Sales, or Event Management is an asset. 2–5 years of experience in catering, banquet, hospitality sales, event sales, business development, or hotel operations. Proven track record of generating new business and achieving sales goals. Experience with corporate events, meetings, conferences, banquets, and catering services preferred. Strong prospecting, lead-generation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and customer service skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software. Strong organizational, administrative, and time-management abilities. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Flexible to work on weekends for member events. Remuneration is based on experience.
