The Role

We're hiring a Lifecycle & Retention Marketing Lead to own email and SMS strategy and execution across a portfolio of telehealth and health & wellness client accounts.

You own the retention engine end to end: you set the email/SMS strategy for new clients, build the lifecycle flows and promotional calendar, write the copy, and brief designers to bring campaigns to life. You're fluent in Customer IO and Omnisend, with working knowledge of Klaviyo, and you know how to pull audiences and segments from CRMs and other data platforms to power precise, high-converting sends.

This is a compliance-critical role. You're working with health and telehealth brands, so you understand the guardrails around messaging regulated products — consent, opt-in/opt-out management, TCPA/CASL, CAN-SPAM, and platform-specific health messaging policies. You know how to write and ship campaigns that convert without putting the client at risk.

Agency experience is required. You've managed multiple client accounts, juggled competing timelines, and taken ownership of retention outcomes. This role operates on North American business hours, so strong timezone overlap with our US and Canada teams is expected.

What You'll Own

Strategy & Client Onboarding

Set the email/SMS and lifecycle strategy for new clients — audit their stack, map the funnel, and define the retention roadmap Translate client goals into a lifecycle plan: onboarding, retention, winback, and promotional programs Own the strategic direction of retention across your accounts, not just execution

Lifecycle & Automation

Build and optimize email/SMS flows: welcome, onboarding, abandoned checkout, post-purchase, subscription retention, winback, and re-engagement Pull and build segments from CRMs and other platforms to drive precise targeting and personalization Manage automation logic, triggers, and segmentation across Customer.io, Omnisend, and Klaviyo

Campaign Execution & Copywriting

Plan and run promotional emails and blasts on a monthly cadence across your account portfolio Write high-converting copy — subject lines, body, and CTAs — that's on-brand and compliant Create clear, detailed briefs for designers to produce email creative, and manage the review-to-ship process

Compliance & Deliverability

Ensure every send meets consent, opt-in/opt-out, and regulatory requirements (TCPA, CASL, CAN-SPAM) and platform health messaging policies Manage list hygiene, sender reputation, deliverability, and inbox placement Maintain audit-ready documentation of consent and subscriber management

Testing, Reporting & Communication

Run A/B tests across subject lines, send times, offers, and flow logic Report on retention KPIs — open/click, conversion, revenue per recipient, LTV, churn, list growth Communicate performance drivers and learnings to account managers and leads

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves

2–4 years of hands-on email/SMS or lifecycle marketing experience Agency background is required — you've managed multiple client accounts simultaneously Hands-on expertise in Customer.io and Omnisend; working knowledge of Klaviyo Proven ability to build and pull segments from CRMs and other data platforms Telehealth, health & wellness, or regulated-vertical experience is required — you understand the compliance landscape Working knowledge of email/SMS compliance (TCPA, CASL, CAN-SPAM) and consent management Strong copywriting skills — you can write a flow, not just build one Ability to set strategy and brief creative, not just execute from direction Data-driven, detail-oriented, and self-directed Fluent English, written and verbal

Strong Signals

Has owned retention programs generating meaningful revenue per recipient / LTV lift Comfortable with deliverability troubleshooting and inbox placement Experience with subscription or membership retention models Familiarity with GA4, attribution, and connecting retention data back to acquisition Experience briefing and directing designers on email creative

You're Not the Right Fit If:

You've only ever run one-off blasts, not lifecycle strategy and automation You haven't worked in an agency environment You can't write your own copy You treat compliance as an afterthought You need constant direction to set strategy or execute You've never managed more than one or two accounts at a time You treat reporting as pulling numbers rather than communicating what they mean

Nice to Have

Experience with paid + retention working together (full-funnel thinking) Familiarity with CRO and landing page testing Direct exposure to patient acquisition or regulated health verticals Experience with loyalty, referral, or subscription lifecycle programs

What We Offer
