About the role
Social Media Specialist & Community Storyteller Full-Time (1-Year Contract) Reports to: Worship & Creative Director
Position Summary Broadway Church is looking for a creative and passionate Social Media Specialist & Community Storyteller to help shape and grow the online voice of our church. This role is more than simply posting content. We are looking for someone who understands how to tell meaningful stories, capture what God is doing in our community, and create engaging, authentic, and culturally relevant content. The ideal candidate is creative, proactive, collaborative, and understands both church culture and modern social media culture. This is a full-time 1-year contract position averaging approximately 35–40 hours per week. Primary Responsibilities
Content Creation • Preaching & Worship reels • Young Adults and Youth events • Sunday recap content • Creative invitations for Sunday • Monthly baptism stories/testimonies The successful candidate will also help identify meaningful moments, testimonies, behind-the-scenes content, and creative opportunities that strengthen Broadway Church’s online presence.
Social Media & Strategy • Help grow Broadway Church’s social media engagement and reach, and manage paid ads. • Proactively suggest creative ideas, recurring series, and content opportunities • Stay current with social media trends and best practices • Help optimize content for Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and other platforms
Event Coverage Help document and create content around major church events throughout the year, including: • Coldest Night of the Year • Holy Week & Easter • Back to School Blast • Singing Christmas Tree (SCT) • Boxes of Love • Worship Nights • Other big church events and ministry initiatives Volunteer Leadership • Recruit, train, and coordinate social media/content volunteers • Help build a healthy and creative volunteer culture • Coordinate volunteers for content capture during services and events
Schedule & Expectations • Candidate must be willing to make Broadway Church their home church • Be present on Sunday mornings to capture content • Attend the weekly Online Team Meeting on Thursdays at 12pm • Flexible weekday schedule with an emphasis on communication, collaboration, and results • Some evening and special event availability required throughout the year • Expected to consistently produce approximately 4-5 posts per week
Qualifications • A committed follower of Jesus Christ who aligns with Broadway Church’s mission and values • Strong understanding of social media platforms and content trends • Experience creating short-form video content • Strong video editing and storytelling instincts • Ability to work independently and collaboratively • Strong communication and organizational skills • Experience with creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar platforms • Experience leading or coordinating volunteers is an asset

Compensation · Annual salary range of $45,000 to $65,000, based on experience, for a one-year contract term.
