Customers worldwide are supported through a toll-free number and an informative website. Yarl Metal is an established architectural metal fabricator entering a rapid growth phase. We are seeking a Strategic Account Manager to drive our expansion across North America by winning high-value commercial projects and building long-term relationships with key industry players. This is a true business-development role focused on winning new work; cultivating and managing established client partnerships and existing accounts. Supported by a dedicated estimating and administrative team, you will spend your time building relationships, shaping deals, and closing opportunities. You will be responsible for systematically revitalizing dormant relationships through consistent and strategic engagement and expanding our footprint to new, unidentified prospects across North America. Success means ensuring Yarl Metal is the “first call” for every major bid with, and will be measured by new booked revenue, margin contribution, and pipeline growth. Core Responsibilities New Business Development & Revenue Growth (Primary Focus) · Identify, target, and build relationships with key contacts at General Contractor, Window Glazier, Developer, and Building Envelope firms across North America. · Reactivate dormant accounts through structured and consistent outreach. · Build leads into new product areas, such as defense, data centers and other growth areas · Build and maintain a qualified 3–6 month rolling pipeline aligned with revenue targets. · Prospect through direct outreach (phone/email), site visits, networking, trade events, and industry relationships. · Track all opportunities in CRM with stage, value, probability, and next action. · Convert qualified opportunities into signed contracts aligned with margin and capacity targets. · Achieve assigned revenue, gross margin, and expansion targets. Market Intelligence · Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and pricing dynamics. · Monitor industry developments through publications, events, and trade forums. · Map key decision-makers and influencers within customer accounts. · Identify new verticals and repeatable project types aligned with Yarl’s strengths. · Provide market feedback to leadership to inform pricing, targeting, and production planning. Proposal Strategy & Deal Execution · Work closely with estimating and operations to develop competitive proposals. · Ensure pricing and scope align with capacity and margin expectations. · Support commercial negotiations while protecting scope and profitability. · Maintain high standards for internal handoff to Engineering upon contract award to ensure execution clarity. Performance Targets · New Revenue Generated: Secure $2.0M+ in orders (Revenue) for the fiscal year · Pipeline Health: Maintain a weighted pipeline value of $2M+ (1x coverage ratio). · Margin Protection: Maintain average order margin at or above 15%. · Account Expansion: Secure first-time orders from at least 20 new or dormant accounts. · Forecast Accuracy: Deliver reliable revenue forecasts to the COO for shop scheduling. Ideal Candidate Profile Experience · 3 - 5+ years of B2B sales experience in construction, custom fabrication, industrial, or engineered solutions. · Industry Context: Specific experience selling to Window Glaziers, General Contractors, or the Building Envelope trade is highly preferred. · Track Record: Proven history of winning new customers and managing long sales cycles (3 - 9 months). Technical & Behavioral Competencies · Construction Literacy: Ability to read architectural drawings and understand the construction bid cycle (RFI, Addendums, Scope Inclusions/Exclusions). · Hunting Mentality: Comfortable with cold outreach, rejection, and the persistence required to break into new accounts. · Collaborative Quarterback: Able to effectively direct internal support resources (Estimating) without getting bogged down in administrative weeds. · Commercial Acumen: Strong negotiation skills with a focus on protecting gross margin. · Disciplined: Self-motivated and results-driven with rigorous CRM hygiene. Compensation · Base Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 base annual salary · Incentive: commission structure tied to Revenue and Gross Margin performance.
