Marketing Specialist with Management Opportunity Full-time, office-based role with flexibility to work from home
About the Opportunity
Microbix is a leading company supporting the infectious disease diagnostics industry. We create biological materials including native viruses, bacteria, parasites and other pathogens in formats useful for the manufacture and control of diagnostics assays. We are seeking a creative, organized, and hands-on marketing professional to continue the strategies developed over the last few years while adding fresh ideas. You will have support from our external B2B digital marketing firm, already familiar with Microbix, our website, SEO, brand style, tools, and previous marketing approach, helping provide continuity while you get up to speed. Working closely with Product Management and Sales, you will support product campaigns, launches, trade shows, conferences, and other customer-facing activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both strategy and execution, can manage multiple priorities, and is comfortable working with internal teams, external partners, contractors, agencies, and senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan, execute, and measure integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social, email, advertising, events, product launches, and other promotional channels to drive product awareness and business growth. · Work with Product Management and Sales to support product positioning, launch strategies, customer-facing promotions and marketing initiatives to support commercial objectives. · Develop and execute brand awareness initiatives while ensuring consistent application of corporate branding, messaging and visual identity across all customer-facing channels and marketing assets. · Create and maintain marketing content for the website, social media, blogs, product collateral, presentations, catalogues, advertising, trade show booths and pop-up signs, other promotional materials. · Manage key digital marketing activities, including social media, SEO, ABM, paid advertising, website updates, email campaigns, and campaign optimization. · Coordinating all aspects of Microbix’s podcast series including script tailoring and final editing, scheduling, creating marketing collateral from and for the recorded collateral. · Monitor and analyze marketing performance through campaign analytics, website traffic, digital marketing metrics, market trends, competitor activity and customer insights to provide data-driven recommendations and improve marketing effectiveness. · Develop and manage the marketing budget, including planning expenditures, tracking budgets, managing estimates and contracts, and evaluating the ROI of marketing initiatives. · Present marketing plans, campaign results, and strategic recommendations to internal teams, external partners, and senior management, while coordinating agencies, contractors, vendors, interns, and other marketing resources as required.
Qualifications and Skills
· 2-5 years experience in marketing, digital marketing, communications, content creation, graphical design or a related role. · Strong writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences and channels. · Experience with social media, email marketing, digital campaigns, SEO, paid advertising, website content, and/or marketing analytics. · Able to manage multiple projects, timelines, stakeholders, vendors, and campaign deliverables while using data to assess results and recommend improvements. · Creative, detail-oriented, practical, results-focused, collaborative, and comfortable working as part of a team. · Education in marketing, communications, business, life sciences, or a related field is an asset; equivalent experience and experience in life sciences, diagnostics, biotechnology, healthcare, or technical B2B environments will also be considered assets.
Tools and Platforms Considered an Asset MS Office, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Salesforce, Trello, Google Ads, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, SEMrush, iMovie, WordPress, social media scheduling tools, advertising platforms, and web analytics tools.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who can move comfortably between strategy and execution: generating ideas, writing strong content, coordinating projects, analyzing results, and keeping marketing activities organized and moving forward. This is a hands-on role with occasional travel, working as part of a close-knit team where people take ownership, communicate clearly, and support one another. Because the team works closely together, the right chemistry and collaborative fit will be important. Depending on experience and progress within the role, the position could lead to a management position.
