Overview

The Manager, Digital Marketing is a key leader within the WRHN Foundation, responsible for developing and leading a high-performing, future-focused digital team and strategy. A central objective of the role is to build on current strengths while opening up new opportunities to meet the Foundation's evolving needs.

The Manager leads and develops the Foundation's digital team, including the Web & Digital Specialist and Marketing Coordinator and external partners, making sure digital platforms, visual identity, and content work together to strengthen brand presence, deepen donor engagement, and support fundraising success.

The role owns the Foundation's digital properties, including the websites, online donation and fundraising pages, email marketing, and e-fundraising platforms, working with the team and external consultants to keep these channels on-brand and continuously optimized so engagement turns into donor action. The Manager is also responsible for dashboards and reporting on performance across digital properties, tracking key metrics against KPIs, and using those insights to grow donor action over time.

Strong video storytelling and creative skills are a significant asset in this role, and priority will be given to candidates who can personally produce high-quality video content. The Manager helps bring the impact of WRHN to life across Inside WRHN, campaigns, events, and more, leading or supporting video production from concept through to post-production.

Working closely with the Communications, Philanthropy, and Fundraising Event teams, the Manager helps capture and share patient stories, clinical innovation, and community impact, while continuously advancing the tools and platforms the Foundation uses to connect with its audiences.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

Provide strategic and operational leadership to the digital marketing team, coaching, mentoring, and developing team members. Lead, manage, and develop the Web & Digital Specialist and Marketing Coordinator, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional growth. Establish performance criteria and continually review team goals, individual performance, and overall results. Oversee the Foundation's digital ecosystem overseeing the Web & Digital Specialist, including website management, optimization, and integrated technology systems. Oversee the Marketing Coordinator's support across content, campaigns, and day-to-day marketing execution. Coordinate the intake and prioritization of digital, design, and content projects, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and aligned with strategic objectives.

Digital Transformation & Strategy

Partner with the Director, Marketing & Campaigns to develop the Foundation's overall digital and marketing strategy, set team objectives, and establish priorities within our brand and enhance our role as the story teller for WRHN. Develop and execute short- and long-term digital marketing strategies, policies, and systems that align with organizational goals and fundraising priorities. Lead the digital transformation of the Foundation's marketing and communications, identifying and implementing new tools, platforms, and workflows (including APIs, automation, and generative AI) that improve how the team creates, delivers, and measures content. Identify opportunities for new, creative initiatives and improved practices across digital marketing and communications. Champion data-informed decision-making, using performance insights to guide strategy, improve the donor experience, and drive engagement and retention. Guide the integration of digital platforms with the Foundation's donor management and fundraising systems, in collaboration with other team members at WRHNF. Gather and analyze metrics, prepare operational progress reports, and identify issues that may affect digital projects, recommending solutions to ensure successful outcomes. Ensure all digital activity follows best-practice protocols and complies with applicable legislation and regulations.

Content Production

Plan, capture, and produce high-quality video content to support fundraising campaigns, marketing initiatives, and donor engagement. Lead end-to-end video production, including concept development, filming, editing, and post-production. Support the development of campaign content, including case for support materials, donor presentations, and digital storytelling. Collaborate with the Communications and Development teams to identify and produce compelling stories that align with organizational priorities. Capture content at events and engagement activities to support promotion, stewardship, and future fundraising. Support content for donor stewardship initiatives, including personalized or project-specific pieces. Support a range of digital and video projects for internal and external audiences, including email, newsletters, corporate publications, web and social media campaigns, and video screens. Adapt and execute with the marketing coordinator across multiple platforms. Ensure all content aligns with brand standards, messaging, and visual identity. In collaboration with team members, manage and organize digital assets, including video files, footage, and content libraries. Maintain equipment and uphold quality standards across all production work. Stay current with video production techniques, tools, and storytelling trends Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Experience & Competencies

Proven experience in digital marketing, digital communications, or content production, including experience leading people or technical teams. Proven experience with video production, including filming, editing, and post-production. Demonstrated experience leading digital transformation initiatives, such as implementing new platforms, workflows, automation, APIs, or AI-enabled tools. Proven experience creating content that supports marketing, fundraising, or engagement initiatives. Previous experience working in a not-for-profit, healthcare, or mission-driven environment is an asset. Strong creative and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex information into compelling visual content. Strong technical skills in video production tools and software. Working knowledge of websites, content management systems, email marketing, and digital analytics, with the ability to guide and support technical specialists. Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including communications, fundraising, and clinical staff. Ability to coach, develop, and motivate direct reports while maintaining accountability for team deliverables. Ability to demonstrate professionalism and sensitivity when capturing patient and donor stories. Demonstrated resilience under pressure and strong problem-solving skills. Strong self-starter with the ability to work under minimal supervision.

Education & Equivalent Experience

Comprehensive knowledge of effective digital marketing acquired through a university degree or college diploma in a relevant field such as film production, media, digital marketing, communications, or a related discipline. A combination of education and relevant on-the-job experience may be considered as an equivalent.

The role requires progressive experience in video production and digital marketing, including experience leading teams or managing projects from concept to completion. Experience producing content for marketing, fundraising, or storytelling purposes is required.

Experience working in a healthcare or not-for-profit environment is considered an asset, particularly where content involves patient stories or sensitive subject matter.

Work Environment And Requirements

This role operates within a professional office environment and involves regular collaboration with internal teams, including Communications, Philanthropy revenue team, and Fundraising Events, as well as interaction with hospital medical and staff partners, patients, donors, and community partners.

The position requires both desk-based work and on-site content capture, including filming in clinical and event environments. This may involve standing for extended periods, transporting equipment, and adapting to dynamic settings.

The role requires strong attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to manage multiple projects and people simultaneously. Sensitivity and professionalism are essential when working with patients and donors.

Standard working hours apply; however, flexibility is required, as occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary to support events and time-sensitive content needs. The work environment presents minimal physical risk but requires adaptability, focus, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

What We Offer

Salary Range: The target hiring range for this role is $86,700 to $102,000. Vacation: 4 weeks vacation plus 4 wellness days and additional float days Benefits: Comprehensive benefits, HOOPP defined-benefit pension, computer and mobile device provided.
