The impact you’ll lead As Regional Vice President, Business Development, you will set and execute the regional growth strategy for Atlantic Canada—leading a high‑performing sales organization, strengthening advisor relationships, and shaping the next phase of growth across a diverse and relationship‑driven market. You’ll coach for excellence, champion client‑centricity, and bring integrated health solutions to market in ways that differentiate us from “insurance‑only” competitors. What you’ll do Own the regional growth plan. Develop and execute the annual business plan aligned to revenue, profitability, and client impact goals; continuously monitor results and adapt strategies to reflect regional dynamics and opportunities. Lead and scale a high‑performing sales team. Coach and empower Corporate Account Executives, Brokerage Sales, and Group Sales leadership to deliver strong results while maintaining a high-touch, relationship-focused approach with clients and advisors. Drive market differentiation. Position Medavie’s integrated benefits and healthcare delivery model in a way that resonates locally; translate market insights into practical strategies that win business. Strengthen advisor & consultant partnerships. Build trusted, long-standing relationships across the advisor community; identify opportunities to deepen engagement and drive new business across all group segments. Elevate sales operations. Oversee prospecting strategy, RFP execution, and pipeline effectiveness; leverage Salesforce (or equivalent CRM) to maintain visibility, discipline, and strong forecasting in a region where relationship management is key. Partner cross‑functionally. Work closely with Product, Marketing, Client Services, and Underwriting teams to align offerings with regional needs and ensure seamless delivery. Be the voice of the market. Maintain a strong understanding of competitive, legislative, and demographic trends across Atlantic Canada; inform go‑to‑market decisions and growth strategies. What you bring 10+ years of progressive sales leadership in group benefits/ insurance or financial services, with a track record of achieving growth targets. Strong understanding of the Atlantic Canadian market, with established relationships across advisors, consultants, and/or key clients considered a significant asset. Expertise in benefits products, distribution channels, and complex sales cycles. Proven leadership capability—coaching teams to perform while fostering accountability and engagement. Strong communicator with the ability to influence at the executive level. Collaborative mindset with experience working cross-functionally. CRM proficiency (Salesforce preferred) with disciplined pipeline management. University degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Business, or equivalent experience.
