Role Description This full-time hybrid role for a Mortgage Agent is based in Mississauga, ON, with flexibility to work both on-site and from home. The Mortgage Agent will connect with prospective and existing clients, assess their financial needs, and recommend suitable mortgage products and solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting mortgage consultations, gathering and reviewing client documentation, submitting applications to lenders, and managing files through to funding. The role involves maintaining strong relationships with lenders, real estate professionals, and other partners, as well as participating in local marketing initiatives to grow a personal client base. Mortgage Agents are expected to provide clear, unbiased counsel, uphold regulatory and ethical standards, and deliver service that reflects Mortgage Alliance’s Five Diamond philosophy. Qualifications Strong knowledge of the mortgage industry, including current products, regulations, and market trends. Experience with mortgage servicing and the end-to-end management of mortgage files from application to closing. Proficiency in advising on residential mortgages and structuring mortgage solutions aligned with client goals. Familiarity with mortgage marketing strategies, lead generation, and building a personal book of business. Background in mortgage lending, including working with multiple lenders and understanding underwriting criteria. Valid mortgage agent or broker license in Ontario (or eligibility to obtain), with a clean professional record. Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in documentation and compliance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in accessible terms. Comfort with CRM systems and standard office software; ability to work independently in a hybrid environment. Previous experience in financial services, banking, or real estate is an asset; multilingual abilities are beneficial.
