Role Description The Business Development Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in Ottawa, ON. This position is responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, focusing on government and public sector clients, and supporting the growth of GSI’s consulting services. Day-to-day tasks include conducting prospect research, engaging in inside sales activities, managing lead generation campaigns, and maintaining an organized pipeline of opportunities. The role involves making outbound calls and sending targeted emails, setting discovery meetings, and collaborating with senior team members to develop proposals and presentations. The Business Development Representative will also maintain accurate records in CRM tools, provide regular reporting on sales activity, and work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to client engagement.
Qualifications Candidates should possess skills in Inside Sales and Lead Generation to identify, qualify, and nurture new business opportunities. Candidates should possess strong Communication skills to engage professionally with clients, prepare clear written materials, and collaborate effectively with internal teams. Candidates should possess Sales and Business Development skills to manage pipelines, support negotiations, and contribute to revenue growth initiatives. Experience working with government or public sector clients, or in a consulting environment, is highly beneficial. Proficiency with CRM systems and basic office productivity tools, along with strong organizational and time management abilities. Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Ability to work on-site in Ottawa, ON, and to operate with integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail in a confidential environment.
