Role Description As a freelance Beauty Advisor at LYS Beauty, you will provide personalized product recommendations and beauty consultations to customers in an on-site retail environment in Edmonton, AB. This part-time role includes greeting customers, demonstrating products, explaining ingredients and benefits, and helping guests find shades and formulas tailored to their skin type and concerns. You will maintain product displays, ensure testers and stations are clean and organized, and support in-store events or promotions. The Beauty Advisor will also gather customer feedback, share brand stories and values, and collaborate with store leadership to meet sales and service goals. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and peak retail periods is required. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in beauty, skincare, or cosmetics retail, with strong product knowledge and an enthusiasm for clean, vegan, and inclusive beauty. Customer service and communication skills, including the ability to listen actively, explain product benefits clearly, and provide confident, respectful guidance to diverse clientele. Sales and merchandising capabilities, such as supporting sales targets, recommending complementary products, and maintaining visually appealing, well-stocked displays. Basic knowledge of skin types and common concerns (e.g., blemishes, aging, hyperpigmentation, oiliness) and a willingness to learn LYS Beauty’s formulations and ingredient standards. Ability to work on-site in Edmonton, AB on a part-time, freelance basis, with reliability, punctuality, and comfort standing for extended periods. Strong organizational skills, attention to hygiene and cleanliness in demo areas, and adherence to safety and store policies. Previous retail or beauty advisory experience is preferred; formal training or certification in esthetics, makeup artistry, or related fields is an asset but not required.
