Where You’ll Add Value

The Senior Leasing Consultant reports to the Leasing Manager and leads a team of leasing professionals in an assigned portfolio of properties. In addition to leasing themselves, they coach and mentor other leasers to improve their sales skills and effectiveness, know their competition, set goals and lead their team to a collective and individual successes in Leasing.

How You’ll Make a Difference

  • Achieve weekly/monthly sales and vacancy targets
  • Ensure that all leasing consultants are following all standards consistently
  • Set weekly/monthly goals and objectives for the team
  • Provide training and coaching to maximize performance of leasing consultants
  • Inspect vacant suites daily/weekly and liaise with Operations to ensure “100% Rent Ready” status is constantly maintained
  • Maintain model suites to ensure all standards are consistently met
  • Participate in the development and execution of the leasing strategy for buildings in their portfolio
  • With leadership, conduct quarterly market surveys, analyze data, provide pricing and market commentary to senior management, and conduct mystery shop visits to competitors
  • Provide appropriate demographic information and customer feedback to the sales & marketing team to inform advertising campaigns
  • Coordinate and implement an active open-house program and other marketing initiatives
  • Perform all the normal functions of a Leasing Consultant while supervising one or more reporting Leasing Consultants

The Expertise You’ll Bring

  • Degree/diploma and/or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience focused in sales
  • 3-5 years proven history of success in a sales environment
  • Proven experience in coaching and mentoring others to grow and succeed
  • Displays a genuine desire to help prospects in finding a new home and to help others grow and develop their skills
  • Takes initiative and makes suggestions for improving performance
  • Flexible and adaptable to constantly changing needs within the organization
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

  • A demonstrated a high degree of integrity, diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to accurately listen, understand and respond appropriately
  • Ability to work and act independently using good judgment when assessing difficult situations
  • Self-motivated individual who takes initiative, is goal and results oriented
  • Superior organizational and time management skills in order to multi-task/prioritize and work under tight timelines and meet multiple deadlines
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in a leadership role managing a sales team preferred
  • Yardi experience would be an asset
