About the role

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Proven experience in finding and closing new opportunities, growing existing accounts, and creating loyal relationships with customers through outstanding service.
  • Develops a network of contacts. Qualifies and assesses potential customers.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans in conjunction with the Sales Manager, to accommodate the regional goals in terms of sales objectives, including strategies relating to specific automotive market segments.
  • Have strong listening and interpersonal skills, motivated and driven to succeed.
  • Prepare sales reports and forecasts, and write and follow up on proposals
  • The position will spend more than 80% of the time outside of the office developing clients, primarily in Ontario, but will need to be able to travel to the US and Mexico.
  • Have the ability to work independently while remaining part of a sales team.

Skills & Requirements

  • · Proven sales success and track record in the automotive or similar industry
  • The ability to read drawings is an asset.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Possess excellent communication and written skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Service-oriented.
  • Ability to stay focused in a fast-paced, multi-task environment
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and communicate effectively with production, engineering, and purchasing teams.

Costing and Pricing Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing cost structures, including material, labor, overhead, tooling, freight, and packaging costs.
  • Ability to review and interpret cost estimates and pricing calculations.
  • Understanding of gross margin, markup, and profitability considerations when preparing quotations.
  • Ability to analyze customer pricing requests and identify cost impacts resulting from specification, volume, or process changes.
  • Proficiency in Excel for basic cost analysis and pricing calculations.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field. In addition, a minimum of five (5) years of account management or manufacturing. Experience working with drawings or manufacturing process knowledge is an asset.

Candidates must have strong interpersonal and presentation skills and have the ability to work independently. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs is also necessary.

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
