Job Summary:
The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for supporting the company's sales growth through effective coordination of customer accounts, broker relationships, and internal sales processes. This role serves as a key liaison between customers, brokers, and internal departments to ensure seamless communication, exceptional customer service, and timely execution of sales initiatives. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, the ability to build relationships with diverse personalities and stakeholders, and experience working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. As the company grows, this position will play a key role in helping develop and support an internal sales support team.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Customer Support Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, brokers, and internal stakeholders. Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, order status, lead times, and product availability. Prepare quotations, sales reports, presentations, and customer documentation. Coordinate sales activities and follow up on customer requests to ensure timely resolution. Assist with onboarding new customers and maintaining customer account information. Support customer retention and growth initiatives through proactive communication and relationship management.
Broker Relationship Management Act as the primary liaison between the company and external broker partners. Coordinate communication, product information, pricing updates, promotional activities, and customer opportunities with brokers. Monitor broker performance and ensure timely follow-up on sales opportunities. Assist brokers in obtaining the information and resources needed to support customer development. Develop strong working relationships with brokers while ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Team Development & Process Improvement Assist in establishing and improving internal sales support processes and procedures. Support the development of a scalable inside sales function as the company grows. Participate in recruiting, training, onboarding, and mentoring future inside sales team members as required. Identify opportunities to improve communication, efficiency, and customer service within the sales department.
Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Production, Planning, Quality Assurance, Logistics, Customer Service, and Finance teams to ensure customer expectations are met. Coordinate product launches, customer requests, inventory availability, and order fulfillment activities. Support resolution of customer concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Reporting & Analysis Maintain accurate customer, broker, and sales activity records within the company's CRM system. Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance updates. Monitor market activity, customer trends, and competitor information to support business growth initiatives.
Qualifications Minimum 3–5 years of experience in inside sales, sales coordination, customer service, account management, or broker management, preferably within food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods. Experience working with external brokers, distributors, or sales agencies is strongly preferred. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds, personalities, and professional levels. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience with CRM systems and sales reporting tools. Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Working Conditions Office-based position. Standard business hours with occasional flexibility required to support customer and business needs.
