About the role

About us

Wallop is one of the world's leading digital agencies for experiential travel, unique luxury properties, and one-of-a-kind hospitality brands. We partner with world-class properties to craft digital experiences that match the caliber of their physical ones.

While Wallop has moved to remote working, the responsibilities of this position required applicants to be local to our Vancouver office. For those who are keen to meet in real life, our WeWork office is a great place to connect and collaborate with colleagues.

The Role

Wallop is seeking a process-driven, consultative Business Development Strategist to lead the conversion engine of our agency. At Wallop, we don’t "pitch"—we diagnose and prescribe. This role is not about cold-calling or outbound prospecting; it is about managing a high-volume inbound pipeline and acting as a strategic bridge between our Marketing and Revenue Operations teams.

You will be responsible for qualifying, nurturing, and closing leads generated by our marketing efforts. The ideal candidate loves the "chess match" of high-value consultative sales and believes that a world-class sales process is built on a foundation of impeccable data hygiene and continuous feedback loops.

On a day-to-day basis the Business Development Strategist will:

  • Own the full sales cycle for inbound leads, ensuring an exceptional prospect experience from initial inquiry to signed contract.

  • Work strategically with the outbound sales executive to collaborate on process, and best practices.

  • Rigorously identify and validate Ideal Customer Profiles (ICP) to ensure we are pursuing high-fit, sustainable partnerships.

  • Execute and improve upon a defined sales methodology rooted in the Win Without Pitching and Tim Williams frameworks.

  • Maintain a "clean-data" culture. You are responsible for pipeline hygiene, lead enrichment, and ensuring every interaction is captured with precision in the CRM.

  • Use data visualization to speak to the health of the pipeline and provide the executive team with accurate forecasting.

  • Work directly with the marketing team to provide real-time feedback on lead quality. Your insights will directly inform and improve Wallop’s marketing strategies.

  • Partner with the Director of Growth to iterate on foundational sales processes, materials, and funnels based on data-backed insights.

  • Work closely with Department Leads to ensure all proposals reflect consistent pricing, current product offerings, and realistic deliverables.

  • Coordinate the RFP process with the executive team, ensuring on-time delivery and a cohesive, high-standard output.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in value-based sales (Win Without Pitching, David C. Baker, or similar frameworks). You are comfortable discussing budgets and ROI early in the process.

  • Expert-level CRM management (Pipedrive).

  • Ability to interpret digital marketing KPIs (ROAS, CPA, Conversion Rates) and translate them into business opportunities.

  • understanding of the luxury hospitality industry, including an awareness of ADR, occupancy trends, and the challenges of independent hotels.

  • High-level presentation skills with the ability to lead conversations with senior hotel stakeholders and executive teams.

  • Strong research habits and a commitment to "clean" pipeline management.

Personal:

  • You are smart, curious, and eager to learn

  • You like people, and people like you

  • You’re team-oriented but equally happy to work on solo projects

  • You enjoy problem-solving and finding solutions

  • While you do not need to be based in Vancouver, we do ask that your working hours cross over with our core PST work hours

In-Person Attendance Expectations:

  • Attend Company town halls and culture-building events as scheduled.

  • Participate in mandatory team or department meetings requiring in-person presence.

  • Reasonable notice will be provided for all required in-person events.

  • Travel required for such events will be covered by Wallop in accordance with Company policy.

Benefits at Wallop:

  • OTE $110,000-$130,000

  • 15 days of vacation (3 weeks) to start

  • Flexible working hours and days

  • Ability to work remotely or from our Vancouver office

  • Extended health and medical benefits

  • Extended Christmas holidays

  • Profit share program - when we win as a company, you win as well

  • $1000 annual health and wellness spending account (for use by you and your family)

  • $30 home office stipend per pay period

  • $1000 one-time home office set up

  • Provided Macbook for work use

  • Extended Easter weekend (Easter Monday & Easter Friday)

  • Summer company beach day and winter holiday party

  • Ability to work from another country to extend a vacation or time in your home country

  • Parental leave salary top-up during your first month’s leave

At Wallop, we believe that diversity is a strength and a core value. We are committed to creating a more inclusive workplace and actively encourage applicants from underrepresented groups, including LGBTQ and BIPOC. We are dedicated to providing an inclusive and accessible recruitment process for all candidates. If you require any accommodations, please let us know and we will work with you to meet your needs.
