About the role

Position Summary The Inside Sales Representative (ISR – Hybrid) is a central, high-impact role responsible for driving on-site sales and supporting rental operations. This individual serves as the key connection point between rental operations, equipment sales, customer retention, and lead generation. The ISR supports counter activity while proactively identifying and developing sales opportunities across mower, tractor, compact equipment, portable power, and compaction product lines. This role plays a critical part in converting inbound traffic into revenue and ensuring a seamless customer experience across departments.

Primary Responsibilities:

Sales & Counter Support Support rental counter operations and manage overflow rental inquiries. Drive on-site equipment sales including mowers, tractors, compact equipment, portable power, and compaction. Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate equipment solutions. Assist customers with product selection, basic demonstrations, and introductions to financing options. Promote current sales programs, rental offerings, and marketing campaigns. Lead Management & Coordination Qualify inbound leads and coordinate effective handoffs to Outside Sales Representatives. Manage showroom traffic, phone inquiries, website leads, and quote follow-ups. Maintain accurate CRM records, including customer interactions, notes, and follow-up schedules. Ensure timely follow-up on all sales and rental opportunities. Outbound Sales & Customer Engagement Execute outbound calling and email campaigns to generate new opportunities. Engage existing and prospective customers to drive equipment sales and rentals. Support ongoing marketing initiatives through proactive customer contact. Customer Development Responsibilities Re-engage dormant accounts and rebuild customer relationships. Conduct warranty expiration follow-ups to identify upgrade opportunities. Partner with service department to identify trade-in and replacement opportunities. Analyze rental history to drive rental-to-purchase conversions. Convert quotes, website inquiries, and showroom visits into sales opportunities. Support retention initiatives to increase repeat business and customer lifetime value. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Outbound calls and weekly customer touchpoints Qualified leads generated and converted Rental-to-sales conversion rate Dormant account reactivation success Warranty follow-up conversions Gross profit contribution from inside sales CRM accuracy, usage, and follow-up completion rate Qualifications & Skills 2+ years of experience in equipment, retail, or inside sales (construction or agricultural industry preferred) Strong customer service and relationship-building skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Excellent communication and organizational skills Comfortable using CRM systems and sales tracking tools Mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn product applications is an asset
