About the Opportunity This is not a traditional business development role. At Pocketride, business development is about creating meaningful relationships that strengthen local businesses while helping build the future of mobility. As a Business Development Coordinator, you'll become one of the faces of Pocketride across Sarnia-Lambton. You'll spend your time meeting local business owners, entrepreneurs and community organizations, understanding their businesses and identifying opportunities where Pocketride and local businesses can grow together. Every relationship you build helps strengthen Pocketride's local business ecosystem while laying the foundation for future expansion into communities across Ontario.
Your Mission Build meaningful relationships with local businesses and organizations that strengthen Pocketride's presence within the community while creating long term partnership opportunities that support customer growth, community engagement and local economic development.
Your Responsibilities Business Development Visit businesses throughout your assigned territory. Introduce Pocketride and our partnership opportunities to business owners and decision makers. Build genuine long term relationships with local businesses. Understand each business and identify opportunities where Pocketride can create value. Develop and maintain a healthy partnership pipeline. Schedule and conduct follow up meetings where appropriate. Community Partnerships Build relationships with restaurants, hotels, retailers, healthcare providers, professional services, community organizations and other local businesses. Represent Pocketride professionally within the community. Attend networking events, business events and community initiatives when appropriate. Help establish Pocketride as a trusted local business partner. Market Intelligence Develop a strong understanding of the local business landscape. Identify partnership opportunities and emerging community needs. Gather market insights and share recommendations with the Operations team. Contribute ideas that support future market expansion. Team Collaboration Work closely with the Operations team to support partnership development and activation. Collaborate with the Marketing team on business outreach campaigns and promotional initiatives. Participate in weekly planning meetings and team discussions. Maintain accurate records of business interactions using company systems and processes.

Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, business development, sales, community engagement or relationship management is considered an asset. Must be based in Sarnia, Ontario, or have the ability to reliably commute/travel to Sarnia at least 2 days per week for field-based relationship building. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable managing your own schedule and working independently. A valid G Driver's Licence and access to reliable transportation is considered an asset.
