About the role
InterRent is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Renewals Agent to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing lease renewals, negotiating renewal terms, and implementing resident retention strategies to maintain high occupancy and resident satisfaction across our portfolio.
The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, skilled negotiator, and relationship builder who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively manage upcoming lease expirations and contact residents regarding renewal options
- Negotiate lease renewal terms, rental increases, and contract conditions
- Build positive relationships with residents to encourage long-term retention
- Maintain accurate records of resident communications, lease activity, and renewal status
- Track renewal performance metrics and contribute to occupancy and retention goals
- Ensure all lease documentation is completed accurately and in compliance with company policies and applicable legislation
- Maintain resident accounts in good standing through proactive communication, account review, and resolution support
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in residential leasing, property management, renewals, or customer retention
- Strong negotiation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Customer-service oriented with the ability to build rapport and trust with residents
- Organized and detail-oriented with strong time-management skills
- Experience using property management software such as Yardi or similar platform is an asset
- Knowledge of residential tenancy regulations is considered an asset
