GroundedAI builds underground intelligence software for the tunnelling and mining industries. Our products, Lithos and Strata, are used by engineering consulting firms on active hard rock TBM and drill-and-blast projects across North America. We are small, fast-growing company working with anchor clients on high-profile infrastructure projects in North America.
The Role
We are looking for an Account Executive who knows the underground construction or mining industry and can sell into it. This is a full-cycle role: you will qualify and close new accounts while working closely with the CEO and Head of Growth to refine our commercial approach. You will be selling to engineering consulting firms, contractors, and mine operators who manage underground projects.
You are not walking into a polished enterprise sales motion. You will help build it. The right person is energized by this opportunity.
What You Will Do
Qualifying and Discovery
Run qualifying calls on inbound leads and conference contacts to confirm project fit, timeline, and budget before they move further in the pipeline Ask the right technical and commercial questions to understand a prospect's site conditions, current workflow, and what is driving their evaluation Document qualifying notes and next steps clearly so handoffs to technical demo or proposal stage are clean Know when a lead is not a fit and disqualify it rather than letting it sit in the pipeline
Technical Demos
Run product demos of Lithos and Strata tailored to the specific project type and client workflow Translate technical capabilities into terms that matter to geotechnical engineers, project managers, and operations leads Keep a working library of demo scripts and assets up to date as the product evolves
Proposal Generation
Build and send proposals and pricing packages Customize proposals to reflect the client's project scope, site count, and usage pattern Track proposal status and follow up to keep deals moving instead of stalling post-demo
What We Are Looking For
3 or more years of experience in a quota-carrying or technical sales role, ideally in a mid-funnel capacity (qualifying, demos, proposals) Direct experience in or selling into tunnelling, underground mining, civil infrastructure, or engineering consulting Comfortable selling technical software to technically-minded buyers (geotechnical engineers, project managers, operations leads) Strong discovery skills: you ask good questions and listen before pitching Self-directed and organized; you manage your own pipeline without needing hand-holding Organized and detail-oriented when building proposals; comfortable working from a structured pricing framework Willing to travel to project sites and industry events Familiarity with CRM tools and a disciplined approach to pipeline hygiene
Nice to Have
Prior experience at a geotechnical software company Experience selling into North American infrastructure or resource sector clients Exposure to SaaS or subscription-based software models Existing relationships with engineering consulting firms active in tunnelling or hard rock mining is not required, but an asset
