About the role
The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000 plus a competitive bonus and incentive package. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, & discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. We are committed to offering competitive compensation & comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation. Further details regarding our total rewards program will be shared by the Talent Acquisition team during the hiring process. Canadian work experience is not a requirement for this role. The Director of Business Development is responsible for the generation of new business opportunities for ESS Support Services within the Mining sector in Eastern Canada. This is supported by the creation of compelling and strategic proposals, presentations, and multiple client entry strategies. This is an independent contributor role.
ESS Support Services is the market leader in delivering remote food services and integrated support solutions across North America, operating in some of the most challenging and extreme environments. Serving sectors such as Oil & Gas, Mining, Construction, Forestry, Military & Defense, and industrial remote sites, ESS provides end-to-end services including industrial hospitality, facilities management and maintenance, janitorial and accommodation services, safety-critical operations, logistics, workforce mobilization, and remote workforce support for camps, permanent facilities, offshore sites, and specialized installations.

Lead Generation/Prospecting: Market research to source new business opportunities. Strategic Planning: Form compelling strategies for client contact, relationship management, bidding and winning, assist in long-term strategic planning within the territory. Pipeline Management: Demonstrated experience building a healthy pipeline of opportunities and accurately forecasting future new business wins. Negotiations: Ability to negotiate contract execution with clients. Develop proposals, deliver presentations, and gain consensus on terms of contracts. Relationship Management: Multiple level contacts within client organizations. Build long-term account value with executive c-level relationships. Manage internal relationships required to ensure solution meets clients’ key decision criteria. Time Management: Successfully multi-task, create a sense of urgency and work within tight deadlines. Communication: Letters, emails, writing proposals, preparing presentations. Plan, direct, and communicate strategy between internal and external stakeholders. Project Management: Lead and liaise with project team towards successful submission of proposal. Report Completion: Relevant to YTD status and strategic plans. Database Management: Maintain accurate and timely records of all clients’ contact details.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Bilingual in French and English (written and verbal) is a must. 8+ years’ experience in sales with at least 5yrs in a hunter sales role. Territory management expertise, ideally in Energy, B2B space or Events and Hospitality Services. Experience in selling intangibles preferred. High resiliency with an entrepreneurial approach. Demonstrated experience delivering sales results. Willing to adopt our proven sales model, which provides the opportunity to leverage your sales acumen while being open and committed to learning a new go to market sales approach. Think logically with a commonsense approach. High degree of personal accountability, integrity and assertiveness to manage the internal sales and deliver required outcomes. Strong communication skills, relationship building (internally/externally), problem solving and negotiation skills. Effective time-management skills. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and CRM applications. Ability to travel approximately 30-60% of the time.

Gestion du pipeline : Démontrer une expérience dans la création d’un pipeline solide d’opportunités et dans la prévision précise des nouvelles ventes futures. Négociations : Capacité à négocier des contrats avec les clients. Élaborer des propositions, présenter des offres et obtenir un consensus sur les modalités contractuelles. Gestion des relations : Maintenir des contacts à plusieurs niveaux au sein des organisations clientes. Développer la valeur des comptes à long terme grâce à des relations avec des cadres dirigeants (niveau C). Gérer les relations internes nécessaires pour répondre aux critères décisionnels clés des clients. Gestion du temps : Gérer efficacement plusieurs tâches, créer un sentiment d’urgence et travailler dans des délais serrés. Communication : Rédiger des lettres, des courriels, des propositions et des présentations. Planifier, orienter et communiquer la stratégie entre les parties prenantes internes et externes. Gestion de projet : Diriger et collaborer avec l’équipe de projet afin d’assurer la réussite de la soumission des propositions. Production de rapports : Préparer des rapports relatifs à l’état cumulatif annuel (YTD) et aux plans stratégiques. Gestion de base de données : Maintenir des dossiers exacts et à jour des coordonnées des clients.

Un baccalauréat ou une expérience équivalente est préférable. Excellentes aptitudes de communication (verbale et écrite) en français et anglais. Maîtrise de la langue anglaise pour communiquer avec la maison mère, les partenaires et les fournisseurs assignés présents à un niveau national ainsi que les commanditaires, sur une base quotidienne. Plus de 8 ans d’expérience en ventes, dont au moins 5 ans dans un rôle de chasseur (hunter). Expertise en gestion de territoire, idéalement dans les secteurs de l’énergie, du B2B ou des services événementiels et d’hospitalité. Une expérience dans la vente de services intangibles est un atout. Grande résilience et esprit entrepreneurial. Expérience démontrée en atteinte de résultats de vente. Volonté d’adopter notre modèle de vente éprouvé, qui permet de tirer parti de votre expertise tout en apprenant une nouvelle approche de mise en marché. Capacité de réflexion logique avec une approche pragmatique. Sens élevé de la responsabilité personnelle, intégrité et assertivité pour gérer les processus internes de vente et atteindre les résultats attendus. Excellentes compétences en communication, en établissement de relations (internes et externes), en résolution de problèmes et en négociation. Solides compétences en gestion du temps. Maîtrise des outils MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook et des applications CRM. Capacité à voyager environ 30 à 60 % du temps
