About the role
TMC The Metrology Company Canada Inc. is hiring a full-time French-speaking Business Development Lead to help us build and grow our Quebec operation.
We specialize in 3D scanning, dimensional inspection, portable metrology, CMM solutions, equipment rentals, calibration, and metrology systems for manufacturers, aerospace, automotive, tooling, fabrication, and industrial customers across Canada.
This is not just a sales role. We are looking for someone with previous metrology experience who can help establish TMC’s presence in Quebec, develop customer relationships, create new opportunities, and eventually support the growth of a local Quebec team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for: Building TMC’s customer base across Quebec Developing new business opportunities with manufacturers, aerospace companies, automotive suppliers, tooling shops, fabrication companies, and industrial customers Following up with qualified leads from trade shows, marketing campaigns, and existing prospect lists Booking discovery calls, demos, customer meetings, and site visits Supporting sales of 3D scanners, portable measuring arms, laser trackers, CMMs, accessories, services, calibrations, and rentals Building relationships with quality managers, engineering teams, plant managers, and business owners Helping identify future hiring needs for Quebec, including sales, applications, service, and technical support roles Providing feedback on Quebec market opportunities, competitors, pricing, customer needs, and local partnerships Maintaining accurate notes, pipeline updates, and activity records in CRM Representing TMC professionally at customer sites, trade shows, and industry events Supporting the long-term development of TMC’s Quebec presence
Mandatory Requirements Fluent in French and English Previous experience in metrology Understanding of dimensional inspection, 3D scanning, CMMs, portable arms, laser trackers, calibration, or related quality/inspection solutions Experience selling to or supporting manufacturing, engineering, quality, or industrial customers Comfortable with outbound calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, customer visits, and technical sales conversations Strong follow-up discipline and CRM habits Ability to travel within Quebec for customer visits Professional, self-motivated, and able to work independently Interest in helping build a regional business unit, not just working a sales territory
Experience Existing relationships in Quebec manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, tooling, or industrial sectors Prior experience in technical sales, applications, service, calibration, or metrology equipment sales Familiarity with brands such as Hexagon, FARO, Creaform, Zeiss, Keyence, Mitutoyo, PolyWorks, Verisurf, SCANOLOGY, or similar Experience growing a territory, opening a new region, or building a local sales/service presence Ability to help recruit, mentor, or support future Quebec team members
This is a full-time role with: Base salary Commission on system and accessory sales Commission on service, calibration, and rental sales Approved business travel expenses Car/phone allowance or mileage reimbursement Growth opportunity as TMC builds its Quebec team
Final compensation will depend on experience, industry knowledge, existing network, and ability to help build the Quebec market.
