Position Overview Our Client is a leading and rapidly growing Canadian private lender specializing in complex and creative financing solutions. With a proven track record in structured finance and a strong national presence, they are expanding their lending capabilities to include an Insurance Premium Finance platform across Canada. This strategic initiative is critical to their next phase of growth. They are seeking a seasoned and best-in-class business development leader to drive the sales strategy, execution, and growth of this platform.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in insurance financing, distribution or brokerage, a strong industry network, and a proven ability to scale client relationships. They will be a dynamic leader with an entrepreneurial spirit, who can strategically assess the market and drive business development, broker engagement and market expansion. They will understand how commercial brokers operate, how premium finance is positioned within the insurance transaction, and how financing can create meaningful economic value for broker partners.

Role Responsibilities Act as a strategic thought leader in the development of a go-to market strategy for the platform and then grow and mentor a team to execute on that strategy. Initially lead the identification, development, and conversion of new broker, brokerage group, network, and strategic partner opportunities in order build and manage a pipeline of commercial insurance broker prospects across Canada. Position the company’s premium finance solution as a strategic revenue, retention, and operational enhancement for brokers by understanding broker economics and clearly articulating how premium finance can improve profitability, customer experience, and enterprise value. Support executive-level sales discussions, including financial modelling, business case development, and strategic proposal delivery. Contribute to product, process, and pricing discussions based on market knowledge and broker feedback. Participate in the design and execution of go-to-market strategies for broker partners, including branded or embedded premium finance programs. Work with internal stakeholders to develop partner onboarding models, account launch plans, and broker-facing materials. Support negotiation of commercial terms with brokers and strategic partners. Help shape the commercial strategy, operating model, and long-term growth plan. Provide market feedback to inform product design, pricing, underwriting, servicing, technology, and funding strategy.
Desired Qualifications 7-10 years of experience in the insurance industry, commercial insurance, premium finance, insurance distribution, or a closely related financial services environment. Strong understanding of Insurance Premium Finance, including how it is sold, administered, funded, and integrated into broker workflows an asset. Experience working with commercial insurance brokers, brokerage groups, insurance networks, MGAs, carriers, or premium finance providers. Demonstrated track record of success in business development, strategic partnerships, account growth, or revenue generation with a strong understanding of broker economics, revenue streams, commission structures, and profitability drivers. Ability to understand and communicate financial models, margin impacts, portfolio economics, and broker value creation. Comfortable contributing to market strategy, competitive positioning, product development, and operational design with the ability to identify scalable opportunities and avoid low-value or distracting sales activity. Collaborative leadership style with the ability to work cross-functionally and grow into broader leadership responsibilities.
