About the role
Job Overview We are seeking a high-energy, results-oriented Account Executive and Business Development Officer to drive our new business acquisition strategy. In this pure "hunter" role, you will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and closing new B2B accounts across several key growth sectors, including produce, agriculture, food, and other Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG). You will provide end-to-end solutions ranging from custom labels and packaging supplies to sophisticated industrial packaging machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Aggressive Prospecting: Identify and engage new potential clients through cold calling, field prospecting, and networking to build a high-growth sales pipeline.
- New Market Penetration: Research and assess development potential in the produce, agriculture, and food sectors to attract and secure new commercial contracts.
- Salesforce Management: Use Salesforce as your primary tool to track leads, manage the sales cycle, and provide real-time reporting on pipeline health.
- Consultative Solution Selling: Conduct needs analyses for prospects to recommend specific label substrates (e.g., water-resistant or food-safe) and packaging materials that meet 2026 regulatory standards, such as Health Canada?s front-of-package labelling requirements.
- Machinery & Capital Equipment Sales: Manage complex sales cycles for packaging equipment, including conducting product demonstrations and presenting ROI-based proposals to decision-makers.
- Proposal & Contract Negotiation: Lead all aspects of the acquisition process, from initial pitch to final contract execution, ensuring alignment with company profitability goals.
Qualifications & Skills
- Hunter Mentality: Proven track record (2?3+ years) of meeting or exceeding revenue targets through new business development.
- CRM Proficiency: Mastery of Salesforce is required to manage pipelines and prioritize high-value activities.
- Adaptability: Ability to quickly master technical specifications for labels and packaging machinery; prior experience in the printing or packaging industry is a plus but not mandatory.
- Industry Awareness: Familiarity with the unique packaging and labeling needs of the CPG and agriculture industries?including compliance with mandatory CFIA regulations?is highly valued.
- Communication & Resilience: Exceptional negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to handle rejection and bounce back from lost deals.
Compensation
- Pay Structure: Competitive base salary plus an uncapped commission structure based on new business revenue generation.
Pay: $40,000.00-$115,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
