About the role
Humans of HR is excited to be partnering with a highly respected financial services team specializing in helping physicians across Canada protect what matters most with smart, cost-effective insurance solutions. With a national database of physicians, a proven track record of delivering meaningful savings, and a reputation for exceptional service, They’ve built a thriving practice that combines strong business results with genuine client impact.
The small, collaborative team operates with the infrastructure and support of a larger, award-winning wealth management organization, giving them the best of both worlds: entrepreneurial drive paired with professional resources and stability. We’re looking for the right person to join us as they continue to grow.
About the Opportunity
This is a rare chance to accelerate your insurance career by focusing exclusively on the physician market — a specialized niche where you can build a substantial, recurring book of business with strong renewal income. You’ll be mentored directly by a highly experienced leader (one of the top insurance producers in the country) and work alongside a skilled, supportive team that includes underwriters and dedicated process support.
If you’re proactive, resilient, and motivated to build something meaningful while helping busy professionals save significantly on their insurance, this role offers exceptional earning potential and long-term career growth.
What You’ll Do
- Drive business growth by making targeted outbound calls to physicians (supported by a robust, proprietary CRM with tracked email leads — They market to thousands monthly and identify those actively thinking about their insurance needs).
- Build trusted, lasting relationships through active listening, personalized advice, and consistent follow-up.
- Meet physicians where they are — whether by phone or in-person at their offices — to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions that provide real value (often 20-25%+ savings on premiums).
- Partner with the internal team to ensure seamless service, from underwriting to policy administration.
- Collaborate on cross-referral opportunities with wealth advisory colleagues to deliver holistic financial support to clients.
- Learn and follow proven systems and processes that emphasize compliance, thorough documentation, and high standards — developed over years of success in this market.
You won’t be starting from zero. You’ll receive warm leads, full administrative support, templates, training, and direct mentorship so you can focus on what matters: conversations and relationship-building. Their model rewards consistent effort — many days involve 50-100 purposeful calls, but with the right support and mindset, the results speak for themselves.
Who We’re Looking For
- 1-3+ years of experience as an insurance advisor in a client-focused, sales-oriented environment (we value proven grit and relationship-building skills).
- Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) completed.
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP), QAFP, CSC, CIM, or CFA (in progress or completed) is a strong asset but not required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort with CRM systems.
- A driven, independent self-starter with resilience — someone who can handle occasional rejection, stay motivated, and push through to build their own successful practice.
- Polished, professional and someone who LOVES BEING ON THE PHONE.
- Eligible to work in Canada.
We appreciate different backgrounds and experiences. What matters most is your drive, integrity, attention to detail, and genuine desire to help clients.
What You Can Expect
- Competitive Compensation: Attractive base/draw (typically $80K–$100K depending on experience) plus uncapped commissions. Top performers in this role have reached $250K–$400K+ annually, with first-year potential often exceeding $100K for motivated individuals.
- Full support: Dedicated admin/underwriting team, advanced CRM with click-to-call and tracking, office resources, and a collaborative environment where people genuinely help each other.
- Mentorship and growth: Shadowing and hands-on guidance from experienced colleagues, with a focus on developing advanced planning skills.
- Flexibility with in-office presence strongly encouraged for maximum success and team connection (Toronto location). We value results over rigid hours.
- Team-oriented culture that emphasizes clean execution, learning, and long-term client relationships.
This is more than a sales role — it’s an opportunity to build a rewarding practice within a supportive, high-performing environment while making a real difference for physicians and their families.
