Versacom is looking for an experienced Director, Business Development to lead new client acquisition in the Canadian corporate market. Versacom has spent almost 30 years becoming Canada's most respected name in multilingual communications — the only major language services in the country built and owned by Canadians. The Role Reporting to the President and Chief Growth Officer, you'll lead new business acquisition across the Canadian corporate market. This is a business development mandate at its core: identifying opportunities, building relationships, and growing Versacom's client base with the support of an experienced team.
What You'll Do Identify and develop relationships with new prospective clients across target markets. Respond to large RFPs with the help of a seasoned RFP team. Build and execute an ambitious sales plan that delivers revenue in the short, medium, and long term. Conduct regular prospecting activities — calls, social media, networking, and referrals. Maintain a disciplined, CRM-driven sales process, with accurate forecasting and reporting. Develop tailored proposals and presentations that speak to each prospect's specific needs. Provide close, attentive follow-up with new clients through their first six months, to ensure a strong start to the relationship. Represent Versacom at trade shows, conferences, and industry events. Collaborate with marketing and leadership to help refine Versacom's offer as the market evolves.
What You Bring 5+ years of experience meeting or exceeding B2B sales targets. A demonstrated track record of developing new accounts. Strong closing and negotiation skills. Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting to individuals and groups alike. Proficiency with CRM tools and a disciplined approach to pipeline management. An interest in AI and language technology (an asset). A background in marketing (an asset). Bilingualism in French and English (an asset).

The Role Reporting to the President and Chief Growth Officer, you'll be the ambassador for a portfolio of existing clients — responsible for their account growth, and long-term, profitable relationships and their overall satisfaction. You'll act as a strategic partner, ensuring Versacom's solutions keep pace with each client's evolving needs while supporting the company's financial goals.
What You'll Do Develop annual account management strategies and growth plans for major clients. Build trusted, close relationships with key client decision-makers. Identify growth opportunities — upsell, cross-sell, new Versacom solutions, and new stakeholders within existing accounts. Develop retention plans and proactively manage risk to protect existing revenue. Collaborate with the Professional Services Centre and marketing teams to raise Versacom's profile across client organizations. Lead the preparation of major or complex quotes and oversee client contracts and follow-up. Act as the internal point of contact for resolving important client matters, including support requests through to resolution. Track weekly and monthly sales results for your portfolio and keep Salesforce up to date. Organize update calls and meetings with client stakeholders, including quarterly business reviews. Monitor client satisfaction through surveys and feedback and meet regularly with Versacom delivery leads. Analyze account profitability, monitor financial indicators, and recommend strategic adjustments. Prepare account review presentations and summaries for client decision-makers. Occasionally respond to RFPs, with the help of a seasoned RFP team.
What You Bring 4+ years of relevant experience in account management and growth in B2B professional services Experience in the language services industry (an asset) Experience managing major corporate client accounts Ability to establish new client relationships in our key accounts and to foster strong relationships with all key stakeholders of our clients Strong communication and negotiation skills A client-first mindset, balanced with sound judgment in protecting Versacom's interests. Rigour, organization, and comfort managing competing priorities. The ability to mobilize internal teams to meet client objectives. A positive, results-oriented attitude, with a high degree of integrity and discretion. Comfort with account profitability analysis. Fluency in French and English for a Montreal role, written and spoken. Bilingualism for a Toronto role is a nice to have A university degree in business administration or a related field; studies in translation are an asset.
