Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Outside Sales Representative role based in Vancouver, BC. The Outside Sales Representative will develop and manage a portfolio of customers in the construction and industrial sectors, focusing on promoting Gear’s vacuum truck services and Mecalac equipment rental, sales, and service. Daily responsibilities include prospecting and qualifying new leads, conducting on-site visits, preparing and presenting proposals, and negotiating agreements that meet customer needs and company objectives. The role also involves maintaining regular contact with existing clients, monitoring project requirements, and collaborating with operations and service teams to ensure high-quality delivery. The Outside Sales Representative will track opportunities in a CRM, report on market trends and competitor activity, and support trade shows, product demonstrations, and other business development initiatives. Qualifications Proven skills in outside sales, business development, and account management within construction, heavy equipment, industrial services, or a related field. Strong abilities in relationship building, customer service, and consultative selling to understand client needs and recommend effective solutions. Comfort with prospecting, cold outreach, territory management, and maintaining an organized sales pipeline using CRM tools. Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, including the ability to explain technical equipment and services in clear, practical terms. Basic understanding of construction job sites, heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, dumpers, compactors), or vacuum truck services, or willingness to learn quickly. Self-motivated, goal-oriented work style with the ability to plan schedules, prioritize opportunities, and work independently in the field. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly within Vancouver and the Lower Mainland to visit customer sites. Experience using common business software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, CRM) and preparing quotes or proposals. High school diploma required; post-secondary education in business, marketing, construction management, or a related discipline is
