Role Overview

We are looking for a Sales Account Executive to drive new business, close deals, and contribute to our growing success. This role is ideal for someone who is results-driven, confident in sales, and eager to work with a dynamic marketing team.

This is not cold prospecting. Our SDR team and outbound systems feed your calendar with qualified, paid-strategy prospects. Your job is to close them.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Client Acquisition & Sales Growth

Run discovery calls with qualified prospects (5 to 15 per week). Walk prospects through our Insites audit and paid strategy process. Close deals and onboard new clients into Setsail Marketing's services. Meet and exceed sales targets: $15K MRR per month plus $45K in one-time projects.

✅ Client Relationship Management

Build strong relationships with prospects during the sales cycle. Hand off closed clients smoothly to the Account Management team. Stay involved as a strategic touchpoint when needed.

✅ Collaboration & Strategy

Work closely with Strategists, SDRs, and Account Managers to deliver a seamless client experience. Maintain a consultative approach to sales, helping clients identify the best solutions for their business needs. Use the Insites audit data to ground proposals in evidence.

✅ Project Coordination

Communicate client expectations to internal teams. Ensure project scope and timelines align with what was sold.

Compensation & Perks

Competitive Base Salary $60,000 CAD per year, paid bi-weekly. Commission Structure

11% commission on recurring revenue, paid for the first 3 months of each new subscription. 7% commission on one-time projects (websites, branding, custom work). Commissions are paid as cash is collected by Setsail.

Quarterly Bonus

Each quarter, AEs earn a bonus based on how much new MRR they booked against their quarterly quota ($45K booked per quarter at 100% attainment).

100 to 109% of quota (at quota): $2,000 per quarter 110 to 119% (above quota): $4,000 per quarter 120 to 149% (strong stretch): $6,000 per quarter 150 to 199% (top performer): $10,000 per quarter 200%+ (exceptional): $15,000 per quarter

Estimated Earnings Potential

At quota (hitting 100% every quarter): around $165,000 per year Above quota (110%+): around $185,000 per year Strong stretch (120%+): around $204,000 per year Top performer (150%+): $227,000 to $262,000+ per year Exceptional year (200%+): $314,000+ per year

✅ A natural salesperson who loves building relationships. ✅ Confident in outreach, discovery calls, and client acquisition. ✅ Experienced in B2B sales, business development, or account management. ✅ Knowledgeable about digital marketing (a bonus, not required). ✅ Organized, proactive, and results-oriented.
