As demand for renewable energy continues to accelerate, we are looking for a driven, entrepreneurial Sales Manager to expand our presence across Canada and United States. This is an exciting opportunity for a sales professional who thrives on building relationships, closing large-scale deals, and making a meaningful impact in one of the fastest-growing industries in North America.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Vice President, Business Development, the Sales Manager will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, expanding existing customer relationships, and driving revenue growth throughout Canada and United States. You will work directly with solar developers, EPC contractors, utilities, independent power producers, and distribution partners to promote Polar Racking's innovative solar mounting solutions. This role combines strategic account management, business development, technical sales, and market expansion. What You'll Do
Drive Revenue Growth Develop and execute a territory growth strategy across Canada and United States. Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities within utility-scale and commercial solar markets. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities through proactive prospecting and relationship development. Achieve and exceed annual sales targets and key performance objectives. Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reporting through CRM tools.
Develop Strategic Customer Relationships
Establish trusted relationships with solar developers, EPCs, utilities, project owners, and distribution partners. Serve as the primary point of contact for key customer accounts. Identify opportunities for long-term partnerships and repeat business. Understand customer challenges and position Polar Racking solutions as the preferred choice.
Deliver Technical Solution Sales
Present and promote Polar Racking's full portfolio of solar mounting and foundation solutions. Collaborate closely with engineering, estimating, and operations teams to develop winning proposals. Support customers through project development, design, bidding, and execution phases. Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to support product innovation and strategic planning.
Represent Polar Racking in the Market
Attend industry conferences, trade shows, customer events, and networking opportunities. Promote the Polar Racking brand throughout the renewable energy sector. Stay informed on market trends, competitive activity, policy developments, and emerging technologies.
Collaborate Across the Organization
Work closely with engineering, operations, supply chain, and project teams to ensure exceptional customer experiences. Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to company growth strategies. Share market insights that help shape future products and services.
What We're Looking For
Experience in solar, renewable energy, construction, infrastructure, structural steel, engineered products, industrial manufacturing, or related technical B2B industries Demonstrated ability to develop new business and close complex sales opportunities. Experience working with developers, EPC contractors, utilities, distributors, or large commercial customers. Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and presentation skills. Excellent communication and customer engagement abilities. Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a proven ability to work independently. Ability to travel throughout the United States and Canada as required. Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience selling solar mounting systems, structural products, steel products, renewable energy solutions, or utility-scale infrastructure is preferred. Solar experience is an asset, but we are equally interested in high-performing sales professionals from construction, infrastructure, steel, industrial manufacturing, and engineered products industries. Understanding of the solar project lifecycle and procurement process. Experience working with utility-scale solar projects and EPC organizations. CRM proficiency and disciplined pipeline management.
