What Are We Looking For? Position Title Senior Development Associate Job Type Full time Department External Relations Reports to Manager, Fund Development & Donor Data Integrity

Position Overview The Senior Development Associate plays a key role in advancing the mission of Inn from the Cold by building and sustaining meaningful relationships with donors, corporations, and community partners. Working within the Resource Development team, this position supports revenue growth through stewardship, cultivation, and engagement activities across an assigned portfolio. The Senior Development Associate brings a donor-centred approach to their work and contributes to a culture of philanthropy across the organization.

What You’ll Do The Senior Development Associate will perform a wide range of responsibilities, including: Manage relationships with current and prospective donors within an assigned portfolio, working to increase revenue and meet established KPIs. Manage the Corporate Giving Program, including prospecting, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate partners. Develop new revenue opportunities and actively grow the donor pipeline through prospecting, outreach, and relationship building. Build and maintain a donor stewardship system that encompasses naming and recognition policies, acknowledgement processes, and ongoing donor communications; ensure consistent and equitable standards are applied across all donor levels. Develop and execute an annual stewardship plan informed by sector best practices, encompassing donors at all levels of giving. Collaborate with the Manager, Fund Development & Donor Data Integrity, to enhance donor recognition and overall donor experience. Manage the monthly giving program, maintaining strong connections with recurring donors and actively working to grow both donor count and total revenue. Manage text-based donor campaigns from planning through execution. Deliver presentations and donor tours to a variety of audiences, including corporations, individuals, schools, and community stakeholders. Represent Inn from the Cold at external events, serving as a brand ambassador to strengthen community awareness and build donor interest. Develop compelling proposals for donors that align funding opportunities with organizational priorities. Record all donor interactions in Raiser's Edge NXT; track and report on the impact of stewardship engagement. Write personalized acknowledgment and stewardship letters as required. Participate in organizational activities including team meetings, town halls, employee engagement initiatives, and team building. Actively pursue professional development opportunities to grow skills and sector knowledge. Mentor and support team members in developing their individual donor relationship skills and fundraising confidence.

What You Bring to Our Mission Education & Experience Post-secondary education in fundraising, nonprofit management, business, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Minimum 5 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or a related role, preferably in the nonprofit sector. Experience with donor management software; proficiency in Raiser's Edge NXT is a strong asset. Experience with corporate partnership development is an asset. Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is an asset, as donor visits and occasional pick-ups may be required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain authentic relationships with donors and stakeholders. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint). Understanding of and commitment to the nonprofit sector, and genuine passion for the mission of Inn from the Cold. Knowledge of Canada's charitable giving landscape and best practices in stewardship is an asset. Ability to exercise sound judgment and work effectively with minimal supervision. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and discretion in all aspects of donor relations and organizational information.
