Job details
Zazz is a software development firm. We design and build custom mobile apps, web platforms, and software, and provide IT staff augmentation, for clients across the US and Canada. We are hiring a Technical Client Partner: a technologist who is just as comfortable in a client meeting as in a scoping session. You will talk with clients about what to build, how, and for what investment, and bring those clients on board. You will own the relationship from the first conversation through delivery and growth. This is not a pure sales role. Our work is custom solutions, so the quality of the solution matters far more than a pitch. We want someone with real technical depth who enjoys clients and revenue. What You Will Do Win new business. Take leads from first call to signed contract: discovery, solution, proposal, negotiation, close. New revenue is your primary measure. Lead the technical conversation. Understand the client's real problem and recommend the right approach, whether mobile, web, integration, AI, custom build, or staff augmentation. Hold your ground in front of a CTO or founder. Scope and price. Work with our engineers on estimates, timelines, and proposals. Handle pricing and change-request conversations with confidence. Own selected client accounts. Be the main client contact for a portfolio of accounts, working alongside Project Managers on scope, risks, and delivery. You are the client's partner, not the project manager. Grow existing accounts. Spot and close upsell and expansion work within the clients you own. Extend our reach. Cover US West Coast and Mountain time clients, represent us in client meetings, and support RFP responses where they fit. You will work independently. You will run client calls on your own, with Engineering and Project Management behind you. What You Bring EssentialA technical foundation as a developer, solutions architect, technical consultant, or tech lead, with real hands-on experience building software. Direct client-facing experience at a software development agency or consultancy, where you scoped, estimated, or sold custom work. Comfort with revenue: experience carrying a target, or a clear record of bringing in business and growing accounts, even if your title was not "sales." Clear, confident communication. You can explain trade-offs simply and hold a firm line on scope and price. Experience with US and/or Canadian clients, and the ability to work hours that overlap with US Pacific and Mountain time. Nice to have Experience with staff augmentation or resourcing models. Experience writing proposals or responding to RFPs. Familiarity with CRM tools such as HubSpot or Zoho. A prior sales title is not required. If you have the technical depth and the drive for clients and growth, we will teach you our sales process.
