Position Summary Slegg Building Materials is seeking a full-time Category Sales Manager – Masonry to lead and grow our masonry product category across Vancouver Island. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at building strong customer and vendor relationships, and has a solid understanding of masonry products, installation requirements, and contractor needs. This position offers a competitive compensation package, including base salary plus commission ($80,000–$100,000) and a company vehicle. Key Responsibilities Category Growth & Strategy Grow sales within the residential and commercial masonry category, including block, brick, stone, pavers, mortar, and related accessories. Develop and execute category strategies that strengthen market position and expand customer adoption of Slegg’s masonry offerings. Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to identify new opportunities for category growth. Vendor & Supplier Management Manage relationships with key masonry vendor partners to strengthen collaboration and drive mutual growth. Negotiate pricing, programs, and promotional opportunities that support category competitiveness. Ensure product availability, quality, and consistency through strong vendor communication and forecasting. Project Quoting & Technical Support Collaborate with the VP of Sales and masonry vendors to prepare accurate, competitive project quotes. Provide technical guidance on masonry products, installation requirements, and building code considerations. Support sales teams with product recommendations and project planning. Operational Coordination Work with Regional Operations Managers to ensure efficient logistics, accurate deliveries, and strong inventory management within the masonry category. Work closely with yard and warehouse teams to maintain product quality, proper handling, and safe storage. Sales Team Leadership & Training Provide ongoing training to staff on best practices in masonry systems, installation methods, and product knowledge. Support sales growth and customer satisfaction through project execution delivered “on time, one time, every time.” Industry Engagement Represent Slegg at trade shows, customer events, and industry functions. Build strong relationships with contractors, builders, architects, and engineers to promote Slegg’s masonry solutions. Skills and Qualifications Experience & Education 5+ years of masonry, construction, or building materials sales experience. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience is an asset. Strong understanding of masonry products, installation practices, and building code requirements. Skills & Competencies Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong organizational and prioritization skills. Proven problem‑solving ability with a solutions‑focused mindset. Exceptional customer service and relationship‑building skills. Confident presenter with the ability to engage senior management, contractors, and key customer decision makers. Effective leadership skills with experience coaching or mentoring sales teams. Other Requirements Valid driver’s licence. Ability to travel between branches, job sites, and vendor locations as required. Requirements

Requires over 5 years of experience in masonry, construction, or building materials sales and a valid driver's license. A bachelor's degree is considered an asset, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong leadership skills.
