We are seeking a Regional Key Account Manager - West to join our team at Rubicon Organics, a leading producer of premium organic cannabis based in British Columbia. The Regional Key Account Manager - West will be responsible for accelerating profitable growth across Regional Key Accounts in Western Canada, with a primary focus on Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta. This role owns the commercial strategy and execution for regional retail chains, building long-term partnerships that increase distribution, sales, market share, and brand visibility across Rubicon’s portfolio. Working closely with the Director, National Key Accounts, Regional Sales Manager - West, Business & Education Consultants, Brand Ambassadors, Marketing, Brand Management, Supply Chain, Finance, and Commercial Analytics, this role will identify new opportunities, negotiate commercial agreements, execute promotional programs, measure ROI, and drive consistent execution in market. The role will also support National Key Account partnerships across Western Canada, coordinate Brand Ambassador activities in the region, and serve as the primary commercial relationship owner for distributors in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. This includes leading business reviews, performance and assortment discussions, forecasting alignment, purchase order coordination, issue resolution, and supply risk mitigation. This is a full-time, permanent position, with a preferred location of Winnipeg, Regina, or Saskatoon. Candidates based elsewhere in Manitoba or Saskatchewan will also be considered. Responsibilities Develop and execute regional key account strategies for Western Canada, with a primary focus on Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta, to drive profitable growth, distribution, market share, and brand visibility. Build and maintain senior relationships with regional retail chains, key decision makers, Manitoba and Saskatchewan distributors, and relevant provincial contacts. Identify, negotiate, execute, and analyze promotional, activation, distribution, and commercial opportunities with targeted regional key accounts. Manage provincial listing opportunities and submissions with Manitoba and Saskatchewan distributors, including new item set-up, assortment recommendations, launch timing, delisting risk, and follow-up with distributor contacts. Own provincial forecast accuracy for Manitoba and Saskatchewan by building and maintaining SKU- and market-level forecasts that reflect distributor demand, retailer pull-through, promotional activity, seasonality, launch plans, and supply constraints. Manage purchase order timing, quantities, accuracy, shipment coordination, issue resolution, and communication of supply or service risks with Manitoba and Saskatchewan provincial distributors. Coordinate product launches, promotions, market activations, quarterly business reviews, Brand Ambassador activity, and cross-functional follow-up to ensure execution aligns with commercial commitments and delivers measurable ROI. Cross-functional collaboration with Sales Leadership, Regional Sales, BECs, Brand Ambassadors, Marketing, Brand Management, Supply Chain, Finance, and Commercial Analytics. Ability to coach Brand Ambassadors and BECs during market visits, coaching days, and account activations to improve execution quality and field effectiveness. Organization, ownership, and communication skills to manage distributor relationships, field priorities, launch timelines, forecast alignment, and issue resolution across multiple Western markets. Core Skills & Expertise Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to translate retailer, distributor, and market data into clear insights and practical actions. Strong negotiation, data analysis, problem-solving, and presentation skills, including experience presenting to senior stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to build sales forecasts, analyze demand signals, and manage inventory or supply planning processes. Experience negotiating with multi-store retailers and managing promotional budgets. Professional verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority. Technical skills including intermediate to advanced Excel, CRM systems, Microsoft PowerPoint, and promotional ROI analysis. Experience 3–5 years of Key Account Management, Sales, or Category Management experience. University degree, preferably in Business; equivalent experience in a sales or cannabis role will be considered. Experience managing commercial relationships with multi-store retailers, distributors, or regulated cannabis customers is considered a strong asset. Cannabis industry experience, event organization experience, and experience managing budgets are considered assets. Ability to travel and spend overnights in Western Canada locations as needed, approximately 20% of the time; valid driver’s licence, access to a vehicle, and applicable regional cannabis selling certification are required.
