Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager to lead and grow our industrial sales operations within a fast-paced wholesale distribution environment specializing in gearboxes, bearings, linear components, and related industrial supplies. The Sales Manager will oversee inside and outside sales functions, drive revenue growth, strengthen customer relationships, and develop strategic sales initiatives targeting manufacturing, construction, industrial, automotive, mining, and maintenance sectors. This role requires strong leadership, technical sales understanding, customer relationship management, and the ability to optimize sales performance while maintaining exceptional service standards. Key Responsibilities Sales Leadership & Strategy Lead, mentor, and develop inside and outside sales teams to achieve revenue and profitability targets Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand market share and increase customer retention Establish sales KPIs, monitor performance metrics, and provide ongoing coaching and accountability Collaborate with executive leadership on pricing strategies, forecasting, budgeting, and sales growth initiatives Support territory planning and customer account development strategies Customer & Account Management Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, vendors, and strategic partners Manage major accounts and participate in high-level client negotiations and contract discussions Ensure timely resolution of customer concerns, service issues, and escalations Conduct regular customer visits to strengthen relationships and identify additional sales opportunities Analyze customer purchasing trends and recommend solutions to increase sales volume and profitability Operational & Technical Sales Support Work closely with purchasing, operations, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure accurate order fulfillment and customer satisfaction Maintain strong knowledge of company products and handle purchasing for the division Support quoting, pricing approvals, inventory planning, and product availability discussions Assist sales teams with technical product recommendations and cross-selling opportunities Ensure CRM systems, customer records, and sales pipelines are maintained accurately Team Development & Performance Management Recruit, onboard, train, and develop high-performing sales professionals Conduct regular sales meetings, performance reviews, and coaching sessions Foster a customer-focused and performance-driven culture Reporting & Analytics Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis to senior leadership Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments Analyze sales data to identify growth opportunities, margin improvements, and operational efficiencies Support continuous improvement initiatives across the sales department Qualifications & Experience 5–10+ years of progressive sales experience within industrial, steel, power transmission, bearings, mechanical components, or wholesale distribution industries is nice to have Minimum 3–5 years of sales leadership or management experience Strong understanding of industrial distribution environments and B2B sales processes Experience managing inside and outside sales teams in a high-volume environment Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and ERP systems Post-secondary education in Business, Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field considered an asset Preferred Skills Technical understanding of steel products, bearings, gearboxes, motors, power transmission, or industrial equipment Knowledge of industrial manufacturing and maintenance markets Experience with pricing strategy, inventory coordination, and vendor management Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced distribution environment Strong customer service orientation with a consultative sales approach

Requirements

Candidates should have experience leading inside and outside sales teams, a record of achieving sales targets, strong leadership and analytical skills, and proficiency with CRM, Microsoft Office, and ERP systems; relevant post-secondary education is an asset.
